Step 7: Once you’ve completed your profile, select Apply.

After your application has been submitted and you’ve received your “Thank you for applying” email, you should hear from a recruiter by phone call or email. To follow up on your application, contact the recruiting department at (620) 235-7399.

What if I’d like to be considered for multiple positions?
You will need to submit an online application for each position that interests you.

Watco posted a new job opening for a position that I applied for in the past. To be considered, do I need to re-apply?
Yes, you must submit a new application to be considered for all newly posted positions.

Can I fill out a paper application at the Watco office near me?

[H2] How Our Company Began

Seeing opportunity in the newly deregulated railroad industry, Charles R. “Dick” Webb and his wife, Kaye Lynne, leveraged everything they had and purchased a locomotive. With eight team members, they started an industrial railcar switching operation in DeRidder, Louisiana, in 1983.

Their son, Rick Webb, joined the company full time in 1984, and together they added a railcar repair shop and a short line railroad. Later, the Webb family expanded into material handling and storage, transportation project design and development, and other aspects of moving commodities and products.

Besides laying the groundwork for Watco’s integrated services, Dick fostered an entrepreneurial spirit and instilled values of humility, fairness, and respect for others that endure today. The company still proudly serves its first client in Louisiana, as well as many others.

Rick built upon his dad’s vision as Watco’s Chief Executive Officer from 1998 to 2018. He served as Executive Chairman of Watco’s Board of Directors from 2018 to 2025. His focus and commitment to helping our customers succeed was a driving force behind the innovation and tremendous growth at Watco. Today, Watco serves customers across hundreds of locations in North America and Australia. Rick continues to lend his considerable expertise and insight to the industry. He serves as a member of the board of directors for the National Industrial Transportation League.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Logistics, Transport & Shipping BS: Watco (watco.com)

https://watco.com 📍 Industry: Logistics, Transport & Shipping
34 BS / 100

Watco is a high-substance industrial enterprise that hides its depth behind a slightly dated and cliché-heavy homepage. While it falls into trust theatre patterns regarding reviews, its transparent financial metrics and detailed executive histories prove it is not a ‘shell’ logistics firm. It is a legitimate asset-heavy operator with minor technical metadata deficiencies.

Replace the generic Discover the Difference H1 with a substance-led heading such as North America’s Leading Short Line Rail & 3PL Network. Implement Person schema for all executives named on the About page, including sameAs links to their LinkedIn profiles or professional records. Hyperlink the Forbes and Newsweek award mentions to the original articles to move beyond trust theatre. Add a dedicated Case Studies page that quantifies supply chain improvements with specific client logos.

The website perfectly aligns with the Logistics, Transport & Shipping category, focusing specifically on rail, transloading, and third-party logistics (3PL). The content provides deep operational detail regarding railcar switching, marine terminals, and supply chain management that confirms its industrial classification.

“The score of 34 is primarily driven by the trust_theatre_flag and missing schema data, which are technical indicators of BS. The information density on sub-pages is exceptionally high for this industry, preventing the score from entering the high or moderate range. The disconnect between the vague homepage 'Signal' and the dense 'Substance' of the About page accounts for the remaining points.”
