[H2] Tesco Mobile
Smile, you’re on Tesco Mobile
To promote their European roaming offer over the summer Tesco Mobile produced a fully integrated campaign, spearheaded by a TV ad but including press, three Virtual Reality films (one featuring TOWIE's Mark Wright white water rafting in Croatia) plus a whole bunch of fun social content. All to prove just how much you can share when you're not being crippled by mobile roaming fees.

[H2] OAK FURNITURE LAND
Got wood?
Oak Furnitureland have, lots of it. I first developed this campaign for the UK's largest manufacturer and retailer of solid hardwood furniture back in 2013. After the initial burst proved hugely successful in uplifting sales, it went off piste when left to the production company. I was then called back in to put it back on track and acted as in-house Creative Director for 6 months.
The new work, headed up by ‘No Veneer in ‘Ere!’ helped it gain second place in Campaign’s Adwatch of the year 2017.

[H2] SCANIA
A Truck is bornSapient were asked to launch Scania’s first new truck in 20 years. If you’re into trucks, this is a big thing and there are a lot of people seriously into trucks, especially Scania trucks. We played off the fact that Scania refers to its fans as ‘family’ to create content for both social and owned channels, teasing the launch, revealing the truck and following up post launch. The following film shows a selection of the work myself and my team at Sapient produced and the results it produced.

[H2] LLOYDS COGNITIVE COMPUTING
Everything you ever wanted to know about AI but were too afraid to askLloyds are making some great AI products, chatbots etc but needed a presentation and some assets they could use to help tell the story of what AI is and what it can do for you, as well as showcasing some of the work they’d produced. We decided to let a chatbot be the spokesperson for them and created a personality for it, filmed lots of interviews and demos to showcase their work and give a sense of the personalities behind the code. Below are a few edited highlights from the presentation material we created.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

43 BS / 100

Boz Industries is an honest but decaying portfolio that has failed to update its technical or evidentiary substance for nearly a decade. It scores low on jargon-based bullshit but high on technical neglect and stale proof. It currently functions more as a static archive than a credible, active business entity in 2026.

Update the technical SEO immediately by replacing the Cargo meta description with a unique brand summary and implementing Organization schema. Remove or archive the 2013 and 2017 references and replace them with at least three specific creative projects from the 2024-2026 period. Add verifiable proof paths by linking each case study to external campaign videos or press releases. Create a Meet the Team section with full names and LinkedIn sameAs links to bridge the authority gap for the founder.

The site aligns with the Marketing and Advertising industry, specifically focusing on creative production and campaign development. The content confirms this by detailing television adverts, VR films, and brand strategy work for established UK brands.

“The score of 43 is primarily driven by failures in Trust and Proof (14/20) and Identity and Authority (13/15). The site avoids being an extreme BS offender because it lacks the aggressive, empty jargon common in the industry, keeping its Semantic Coherence score very low (2/20). However, the staleness of its evidence and the total absence of technical trust signals prevent it from achieving a low-BS rating.”
