HOMEPAGE (http://www.mattbeswick.co.uk) Matt Beswick – Digital Consultant & Agency Founder
[H1] Agency Founder // Consultant // Speaker. I’m Matt Beswick, a consultant and agency founder based in the UK. I split my time between Aira and Blush, and consulting with a small number of clients.I work with founders who need help growing their agency or business, and in-house marketing teams who need strategic support or training.Find me on LinkedIn, or read more about me below. Work with me [H2] My Story. [IMG: matt-beswick-search-love-geek] For as long as I can remember I wanted to run my own business. The typical “selling sweets in the playground” story applies here, followed by working for a corporate whilst running an eBay store or two, and eventually (after spending half a decade teaching myself to code) launching a Facebook game that brought joy to over 3 million people. With that came the curious world of self employment and I haven’t looked back since. Fast forward the best part of 20 years and I’ve moved from start-up founder to freelance consultant and, ultimately, co-founding two multi-award winning digital agencies. One is trusted by some of the world’s most recognisable brands while the other specialises in working with owners and smaller marketing teams. I still work with both agency’s leadership teams and key clients, with the rest of my days split between consulting, personal projects, and making the most of family time by working 4 days per week. [H2] Consultancy. Brands [H3] Strategic consultancy for in-house teams at brands who simply can't stand still. I consult for a very small number of clients, bringing my experience working with global brands, founding two digital agencies, and speaking at some of the search industry’s best known conferences. My expertise lies in working alongside in-house teams to help them craft and deliver a tailored digital strategy, with a focus on the more technical aspects of marketing – SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, and CRM. Work with me Agencies [H3] Helping agency founders and leadership teams navigate the challenges of exceptional growth. I love the agency world, and my experience growing Aira to be one of the most respected agencies in our industry has been as fun as it was hard. Why on earth I then decided to take a step back, only to then help my wife build Blush is still beyond me. Glutton for punishment I guess.I use this experience to help a select few agencies optimise their processes, build out solid financial reporting, nail down their structure, or implement the next step of their growth plan. Work with me Founders [H3] Making the challenges of growing your own business less loney. Running your own business is hard and knowing where to focus your time and energy can be incredibly overwhelming. Believe me when I say I’ve been there. I use my experience of growing my own businesses and working with senior management teams to help founders achieve their goals. Work with me [H2] Contact.

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Marketing, SEO & Advertising Agencies BS: Matt Beswick (www.mattbeswick.co.uk)
Matt Beswick’s site is a low-BS personal authority platform that wins on specific biography but loses on verifiable external proof. It avoids the ‘Agency-in-a-Box’ template trap but relies heavily on the visitor’s existing knowledge of his reputation. A solid, substance-first site that just needs to link its trophies to be truly bulletproof.
Add a dedicated Awards page or section that links the ‘multi-award winning’ claim to the actual awarding bodies and years. Include a carousel or grid of the ‘world’s most recognisable brands’ mentioned in the text to ground the claim in reality. Integrate a Case Studies section that provides current performance metrics for the ‘Strategic consultancy’ service. Update the schema_json JobTitle property to explicitly reflect ‘Agency Founder & Digital Consultant’.
The website perfectly aligns with the Marketing, SEO & Advertising Agencies category. The content specifically details experience in technical SEO, Paid Search, and growing digital agencies like Aira and Blush.
“The score of 27 reflects a high-substance personal brand that is slightly undermined by Trust Theatre. The failure to link the 3 reviews or provide external proof paths for the awards claims drove 12 points of the score. Information density remains a strength, keeping the score in the Minimal to Low BS range.”
