It’s a win-win.Search electric cars [H2] Polestar 3 (2026 - ) review Stylish, spacious and with sporty aspirations – is this premium electric SUV worthy of your attention?Read review460,480new and used cars ready and waitingFind yours [H3] When is the best time to buy a car? New plate registrations are in March and September every year, so expect plenty of activity around those months as car buyers look to sell their old cars and dealerships unveil their new stock. But really, there's no wrong time to buy a car. Great deals are listed daily, and you could find the car of your dreams at any moment – just save a search on Autotrader and we'll alert you as soon as your dream car is listed on our site. [H3] Should I buy an electric car? The electric car market is starting to boom. There's more choice than ever before, better tech, improved batteries and charging times, and a healthier electric car charging infrastructure. With more used electric cars entering the market, EVs are becoming more affordable to more buyers too. Electric cars might not be right for everyone right now, but with everything from electric city cars to electric SUVs now being released, it's well worth taking a look before you buy your next car. Electric cars produce fewer emissions and also tend to be cheap to run – charging an electric car from home costs much less than a tank of petrol, and then there are the savings you'll make on road tax and servicing. Autotrader have more electric cars listed than any other site, so if you think you're ready to make the switch or want to learn more, head to our electric car hub. [H3] Should I buy a new car? We all dream of that brand-new car on the driveway and, with some great finance deals and lease deals available on leading make models, that dream could be in reach. Getting behind the wheel of a brand-new car can get you the latest tech, a full manufacturer warranty and better fuel efficiency, amongst many other perks. New cars might not be affordable for everyone (always budget properly and make sure you can afford a car before you commit), but they're more accessible than you might think. Shop brand-new releases and compare monthly or outright costs on Autotrader. [H3] Can I buy a car online? Buying online is booming, and you can now get a brand-new car delivered to your door in all its glory. Just look for participating dealerships on AutoTrader, find your dream car and arrange your delivery date when you're ready. We're working to keep you safe and secure when shopping online and, with Autotrader, you can do more online – from finding that dream car to financing it. Learn more about buying a car online. [H3] Are used cars reliable? The UK's used car market is massive, and so it's worth doing your research before you buy. We'd encourage used car buyers to get a vehicle history check so they can be sure the car they're buying is as advertised. It's the easiest way to avoid a nasty surprise. Check our expert review to see how cars scored for reliability, safety and comfort (amongst other key areas), and take the car for a test drive to make sure it's right for you. Used cars listed on Autotrader have to pass a five-point check, so you can shop in confidence knowing they aren't written off, stolen, scrapped, imported or exported. Learn more about used cars on Autotrader. [H3] How can I sell my car? If you choose to sell your car through Autotrader, you have a couple of easy options: 1. Part-exchange your car. Just find a participating dealer and trade your old car in against a brand-new one. 2. Create an advert and sell it yourself. You can list your pride and joy on Autotrader in three simple steps. Private sales are a great way to get a good price, and the size of our audience means you'll get your car in front of more buyers than on any other site. 3. Auction Your Car. We'll give you an estimate of how much your car could be worth to a buyer. Then we'll hand you over to our online partner Dealer Auction to let the bidding begin! Learn more about selling your car. [H3] Can I win a car for free? Yes! Sign up to our emails and be the first to hear about our next electric car giveaway! SUB-PAGE (https://autotrader.co.uk/cars/valuation/) Free Car Valuation | How Much Is My Car Worth? | Autotrader UK
[H1] Value my car In the know, in 10 seconds [H2] Join the millions who value their car with Autotrader. [H3] We look at millions of vehicles to get you an accurate valuation. [H3] With Autotrader, you can get an independent valuation that is only driven by data. [H3] Did we mention it's completely free and ready in seconds. [H2] We know what your car is really worth We take into account your vehicle's age, mileage, spec and optional extras to give you the most accurate valuation we possibly can.So whether it's your first car, or the one that was built for family adventures, we know what your car is really worth. [H2] Factors that can affect a car’s value The following factors are not included in our valuations but can increase or decrease the car’s value. [H4] Things that can increase a car's value ModificationsAny post-factory features that you've added to the car that make it stand out, e.g. alloy wheels, multimedia systems, etc.Full service historyA car with a complete record of all services can be worth more than one that has gaps in the service history.Desirable colourSome colours are more popular than others, so a car in a sought-after colour can be worth more.No damageOur valuations are based on the car being in good condition for its age – so it could have some minor wear and tear. If it's in an excellent condition with no damage at all, then it's likely to be worth more than our guide price. [H4] Things that can decrease a car's value Significant wear and tearOur valuations assume the car has some minor damage, like a small stain on the seat or a scratch on the bumper. If the damage is any more significant than this, it's likely to reduce the value of the car.Parts not workingIf anything needs fixing, e.g. a seat warmer or electric window that doesn't work, the car may be worth less.Lots of previous ownersUsually, the fewer owners the more a car is worth. So, if a car has been sold many times before it can reduce the value.Gaps in service history and/or no MOTOur valuations assume a car is in good working order. If there isn't a current MOT, or significant gaps in the service records, it can reduce the value. [H3] How much is my car worth? We know a car is more than just nuts and bolts, so we want to give you a fair and accurate price whether you're buying or selling. Our tool is 100% data-driven, completely free and will give your car's market value in seconds. [H3] How do I value my car? You can use Autotrader's car valuation tool – it's an easy and accurate way to find out how much your car is worth. Simply enter your car registration and mileage to start, and we'll give you both a private sale and part-exchange price so you can to decide what to do with your car. It's completely free to get your valuation with us and can be done online in minutes. Once completed, your valuation will be provided in seconds. There's no hassle and no obligation. [H3] Are Autotrader car valuations accurate? We look at millions of vehicles every day to ensure your valuation is accurate. To ensure our prices are accurate, we update our car valuations daily and combine data from: over 800,000 adverts from a range of trusted sources over 3,500 dealer websites values from major car auctions ex-fleet and leasing car values [H3] Why get a car valuation? Knowing the car's value can help you negotiate in confidence when buying or selling a car. Cars will sell faster when accurately priced. A fair price, and including up-to-date information like vehicle history checks, can inspire confidence in potential buyers and help your car stand out. And if you're looking to part-exchange, you can do so with more confidence. [H3] How does mileage affect a car's value? Generally, cars with higher mileages have lower resale values because they tend to have higher levels of wear and tear. Several factors decide a car's value, however. These include how well a car is looked after, any extra features included, and how rare or desirable colour or trim. [H3] Should I sell my car or part exchange it? Once you've got your valuation, you're free to choose! You might get more money if you sell your car privately (and you'll reach a lot of car buyers on Autotrader) – but it can take a bit of time and effort from you. If you'd rather get the money this week, you can also opt for part exchange [H2] Over 40 years of experience buying and selling cars We’ve been helping people buy and sell cars since 1977. Over that time, we’ve valued millions (maybe even billions!) of vehicles so you can trust us to give you a pretty good idea of what it’s worth.Autotrader Trustpilot rating: Excellent [IMG: Trustpilot logo] Autotrader has a Trustpilot score of 4.6/54.6/5Score is based on 106,745 reviewsAutotrader Classified AdvertAutotraderClassified advert listing on Autotrader4.65106,745About Autotrader [H2] Send me great Autotrader offers and the latest vehicle reviews.

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Marketplaces & Classifieds Platforms BS: Autotrader Limited (www.autotrader.co.uk)
Autotrader UK is a benchmark for high-substance marketplaces, replacing traditional marketing fluff with granular financial data and transparent terms. Its BS score is driven only by minor template fingerprints and navigational heading fluff, while its core utility is backed by massive external validation. It is a utility-first platform that delivers exactly what it promises.
Redesign the H1 tags on the homepage and cars landing page to include specific marketplace metrics like 460,000+ listings rather than generic Discovery language. Implement Person schema for all expert reviewers to provide a verifiable digital footprint for individuals mentioned in the news and review sections. Remove H2 status from navigational placeholders like Main site menu and Follow us on social media to increase the semantic weight of the remaining headings. Include direct outbound links to Trustpilot or regulatory compliance pages adjacent to every trust and safety claim.
The site perfectly aligns with the Automotive Marketplace and Classifieds industry. The content focuses entirely on the mechanics of a two-sided marketplace, including seller valuations, buyer reservations, and verified inventory listings.
“The score of 14 is exceptionally low, reflecting a site that prioritizes data over fluff. Information Density and Commodity Fingerprint were the only pillars to receive points, primarily due to industry-standard cliches and nav-heavy heading structures. The Semantic Coherence and Trust pillars scored near-zero due to the absolute alignment between claims and technical proof.”
