[H2] Update Details#
[H3] ONE-TOUCH GARAGE DOOR OPENER#
You now have a quicker and easier way to open or close a garage door. After you set a location for a garage, a prompt appears on the driver display when you approach or leave that garage. You can then press the right thumb control button on the right side of the steering wheel to open or close the garage door. If you have multiple paired garages at the same location, use the thumbwheel to scroll and then select the appropriate garage.
Before you begin, park near and in front of the garage when you set the location.
For an existing paired garage, the next time you open or close that garage door, you will be prompted to set the location of the garage on the center display. You can also set the location of an existing garage by going to Settings > Connect > Garages.
When pairing a new garage, you will have the option to set the location at the end of the pairing process.
NOTES
The location you set for a garage is based on the GPS location.
When you enter a vehicle that is parked at the set location, press the brake pedal to enable the steering wheel controls.
You can still choose the Garages button in the status bar on the center display to open or close a garage door.
[H3] NAVIGATION ENHANCEMENTS#
We’ve made it more convenient to plan trips and get on the road:
Search results for places now include the drive times next to the results as you type. Choose the drive time to go straight to navigation. You can still choose a result on the list to view details and a preview of the route before you start your trip.
Charging stops that are part of your trip now appear with pins that show the planned charging time and charger speed - the faster the speed, the greater the number of lightning bolt icons. Tap the charger pin to view details about the charger’s network, availability, and speed.
When you arrive at a charging stop that is part of your trip, you see the target charge level under the arrival message. This tells you how much you’re supposed to charge during the stop.
[H3] NEW TEXT ADDRESS SHARING FROM SMARTPHONE TO VEHICLE NAVIGATION#
You can now share text addresses from your smartphone to your vehicle navigation, including addresses in text, emails, calendars, notes, and other apps.
On your smartphone, for any address in text that you can highlight or long-press, choose Share, and then choose the Rivian mobile app to send it to your vehicle navigation. The Share option is also supported for Apple® Maps, Google Maps™, and Yelp.
[H3] EVgo Autocharge+ Support#
Evgo Autocharge+ now supports Rivian vehicles. To enroll in Autocharge+ in the EVgo app, go to the Vehicles tab, add your vehicle to your profile, and follow the on-screen instructions to verify your vehicle’s VIN and complete enrollment. Once enrolled, you can plug in your vehicle to start a charging session. The EVgo network automatically detects your vehicle and associates its charging with your EVgo account.
NOTE
If you don’t see the Autocharge+ option, you can remove your vehicle from your profile and then add it again.
[H3] ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS#
Locking and unlocking:
Improved the responsiveness of proximity and active unlocking with any key, when the vehicle is asleep.
Added independent lock and unlock options to the center display. These options let you know when the vehicle is partially unlocked and provide a quick way to fully lock or unlock the vehicle.
DC fast charging:
Improved DC fast charging speeds, by up to 2.5 minutes, at high battery temperatures. Thanks to Kyle, Out of Spec, for your videos!
Reduced battery cooling noise during DC fast charging, at high battery temperatures.
Driver+:
Added a chime that sounds when Adaptive Cruise Control disengages.
Added a message that appears on the driver display before the vehicle reaches the maximum speed allowed for Highway Assist and disengages Highway Assist.
Fixed a rare issue in which the driver display indicated that Adaptive Cruise Control was active when it actually wasn’t.
Alexa:
Fixed a rare issue in which Alexa acknowledged but didn’t play a requested Amazon Music Podcast.
Fixed a rare issue in which Alexa didn’t respond after you asked Alexa to perform a car control command, when you weren’t logged into Alexa and you changed the units of measurement for the temperature settings.
Added a control to allow you to disconnect your smartphone from Bluetooth®.
Fixed a rare issue in which Bluetooth audio or the Phone app disconnected after you updated or restarted the software.
Fixed an issue in which multiple phones weren’t properly displayed on the Drivers and Keys screen if they were paired to the same profile.
Fixed a rare issue in which part of the driver display remained in day mode when you switched the displays from day to night mode.

[H2] Update Details#
[H3] FAST ACCESS FROM APP LAUNCHER#
Enjoy a new way to access apps on the center display. The app launcher feature gives you faster access to five of your favorite apps and your most recent app. You’ll see these apps shown at the bottom center of the center display.
You can access or customize your apps by starting at the app tray, and then swiping up on the app tray handle. From the expanded app menu, press-and-hold an app, and then drag it down to one of the available slots on the app tray. For details, choose Owner’s Guide from the menu on the center display.
[H3] KEYS TO ADVENTURE#
The Rivian mobile app now lets you add up to four phone keys to access your vehicle. There are two primary ways do this:

[H3] ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS#
Range Loss:
The vehicle now provides a more accurate estimate for range after it sleeps or idles for a long time.
Fixed a rare issue in which some vehicles maintained their 12 V batteries too frequently, causing an increase of overnight range loss.
Unless the battery is preconditioning, Climate Control now turns on when the door is opened instead of when the vehicle is unlocked.
For AC charging, it the connector becomes too warm, the vehicle automatically lowers the power to sately continue charging, and a message appears on the driver and center displays.
Driver+
Improved lane centering robustness with better lane negotiation during Highway Assist.
Fixed a rare issue with the visual alerts not appearing when the vehicle makes slight course corrections during Lane Keeping Assist.
Addressed a rare issue in which canceling Adaptive Cruise Control at very low speeds by holding up the driver stalk could shift the vehicle into Reverse.
We’ve added new ways to automatically or manually turn on or turn off the truck bed lights. For details, choose Owner’s Guide from the menu on the center display. Highlights include:
Opening or closing the powered tonneau cover automatically turns on the lights
While the tailgate is unlocked and opened, press the tailgate button on the exterior side rail to turn on or turn off the lights.
After the truck bed lights turn off while the vehicle is locked, you have 30 seconds to turn them on again.
The lights don’t automatically turn on while in Camping › Stay off mode.
We’ve updated the sound system software to prevent an occasional issue in which the audio is muffled.
Gear Guard security system:
You can now preview your list of recorded incidents while driving. Note that for safety, the feature still doesn’t allow playing them while driving.
Fixed a rare issue for the Gear Guard animation so that it deactivates when it detects a person in the vehicle.
Phone app:
To respond to automated phone systems, the phone keypad on the center display now generates telecommunication touch tone signals.
Fixed a rare issue that caused the Phone app on the center display to freeze or crash during an incoming call.
Alexa:
Fixed an issue in which Alexa voice control for Alexa media providers didn’t work after a phone call.
Fixed an issue in which Alexa wouldn’t activate it the driver vehicle door was open or ajar.
User Interface:
Fixed an issue in which the steering wheel and side mirror adjustment panels disappeared unexpectedly.
Fixed an issue that caused an old screen to flash when you navigated to a new one.
We’ve made improvements to Show and Tell: the vehicle stays awake, turns off the horn, turns off proximity access, and SOS calls go to a test number.
IMPORTANT
To make an actual SOS call, exit Show and Tell, and then press the SOS button.
Fixed a rare issue in which Vehicle Hold wouldn’t promptly engage in Snow mode.

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

11 BS / 100

This is a high-utility, low-ego technical archive that prioritizes data over marketing. Its only significant flaw is a lack of recent updates relative to the current date and a thin human identity profile. It is the antithesis of a bullshit-heavy site.

Update the site with 2024-2026 data to bridge the 33-month gap and maintain relevance. Replace the ‘Brianvp’ handle in the schema with a full name and a sameAs link to a LinkedIn or professional profile to solidify authority. Include outbound links to official Rivian documentation for each release note to provide an external proof path. Add a ‘Status’ indicator on the homepage to clarify if the project is an active tracker or a legacy archive.

The site fits the technical niche of Media & Publishing, specifically acting as a specialized data archive for automotive software updates. It deviates from traditional newsroom patterns by focusing entirely on technical documentation rather than editorial narrative.

“The score of 11 is driven primarily by Identity and Authority gaps and content staleness. The site scored perfectly (0) on Semantic Coherence and near-perfectly on Information Density, representing one of the lowest BS-profiles in the database.”
