We may not spend much time actually speaking on them these days, but we use a phone for virtually everything else. Smartphones today typically fall into one of two categories: iPhone or Android. iPhones are the most popular smartphones overall and offer entry into the much coveted Apple exosystem, where they can be paired with Apple Watches, iPads, and MacBooks for greater inter-device connectivity. Android phones, meanwhile, are more numerous combined and often offer higher specs than iPhones on measures such as charging speed and camera quality, while offering integration with a wider variety of devices including Chromebooks and Windows laptops. They also tend to be cheaper. Our industry-leading phones coverage serves up news, reviews, features and tutorials covering all kinds of devices, from the best smartphones overall to more budget offerings and all points in-between. [IMG: Apple Watch Ultra and Peloton Bike+ product images on teal background] (Image credit: Apple, Peloton) Health and fitness technology is unlike other categories such as smartphones, laptops and gaming tech. It’s innately personal: for example, smartwatches and fitness trackers allow you to monitor your sleep, heart health, exercise habits, daily step counts and more, in a way no other technology can.Smartwatches typically fall into two categories thanks to the split between iPhone and Android users: the best Apple Watches, and everything else. If you use an iPhone and you’re looking for a smartwatch, you’re likely to be getting an Apple Watch unless you’re just looking for a slender fitness tracker. Android users have lots more options, many of which can be found in our best smartwatches guide. However, it’s not all about what you wear on your wrist. The ‘fitness tech’ umbrella includes all sorts of gadgets, such as smart rings, treadmills, exercise bikes, heart rate monitors and even running shoes. The level of technical expertise required to keep you comfortable and protect your joints on runs can make choosing a pair of running shoes very difficult, but we’ve done the legwork for you in our best running shoes guide. If you’re interested in health and fitness and looking for the right purchases to step up your game, look no further. Whether you’re buying an entry-level fitness tracker or you’re ready to break a marathon personal best, we’ve got the right advice for you. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 829 businesses audited.
TechRadar has 19.7 points less BS than the average for Media, News & Publishing.
Media, News & Publishing BS: TechRadar (techradar.com)
TechRadar is a substance-heavy outlier in a crowded industry; it backs its claim of ‘Expertise’ with quantified testing hours and named, verifiable journalists. The site is a forensic model for how to use structured data to prove authority rather than just claim it.
Diversify the H2 ‘Useful links’ and ‘Latest about’ headings on sub-pages to include more unique, descriptive language that avoids template fingerprints. Link the ‘196,000 hours’ testing claim to a public-facing audit or detailed methodology whitepaper to convert it from an internal metric to a verified proof path. Ensure all ‘Sponsor Content’ labels are visually distinct from editorial bylines in all views to maintain the high standards of advertising separation.
The site is an exact match for the Media, News & Publishing category, specifically focusing on technology journalism. The presence of bylined articles, editorial standards sections, and NewsGuard credibility ratings in the structured data confirms its status as a high-authority news entity.
“The score of 15 reflects a very low level of bullshit. The minor points are driven primarily by the Commodity Fingerprint (6) due to standard news CMS layouts and the Trust and Proof pillar (4) where the site relies on massive internal metrics that lack a direct third-party verification link in the body text. All other pillars are near-perfect, especially Identity and Authority (1) due to excellent schema implementation.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from TechRadar, captured on June 19, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to TechRadar: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
