As per The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) an average adult should
consume about 1g of protein per kg of body weight every day. However due to
lack of awareness there is protein deficiency especially in vegetarian
people. There are simple solutions to it, they should try and add a protein
in every meal. Legumes, sprouts, dals, milk and milk products, whey, soya,
pea, egg, and non-vegetarian food items are some of the good sources of
protein. Also, one should remember that overconsumption of protein can be
harmful.

It is a myth that proteins are only found in non-vegetarian foods like eggs,
