What do the astrological trends forecast for love relationships in the year ahead? Read on for key astro-events in 2026.
This year, Jupiter continues to transit sentimental Cancer until June 30th, from which time it moves through affectionate Leo. Electric Uranus transitions from Taurus to Gemini on April 25th. Both serious Saturn and nebulous Neptune begin the year in Pisces, but they rather quickly transition into the sign of Aries on February 13th and January 26th, respectively. Pluto is fully committed to the sign of Aquarius. Venus is retrograde from October 3rd to November 13th.
[H4] Jupiter in Cancer in 2026
Until June 30th, Jupiter in Cancer brings a sense of joy and abundance in primary bonding, family, comfort, and security. We tend to value these things strongly.
During this Jupiter in Cancer cycle, we place strong emphasis and value on the emotions and instincts to nurture. We attract the most good fortune when we are sympathetic, charitable, use our powers to save and accumulate, and comfort others.
We see opportunities to grow and succeed through emotional channels, expanding our own foundations, and building our families. We are more inclined to believe that emotional intelligence is the major key to solving problems. Connecting intimately is valued.

Jupiter in fiery, loyal Leo brings a general philosophy of life that emphasizes going big and taking pride in our love life. We seek people who are open, consistent, and affectionate. Attentive, earnest, and passionate partners become more attractive.
People who have given up on finding love might now reconsider. There can be an emphasis on connecting in grand and romantic ways as a big part of our relationship goals. Getting in touch with our own youthful, playful spirit and desire to express ourselves and our affection can be healthy and magical, ultimately benefiting our relationships.

The downsides are primarily about how we generally handle emotions during this period. We can feel uncomfortable with big shows of feeling or vulnerability/weakness with Saturn in Pisces, for example. By not fully allowing ourselves these very human qualities, we limit ourselves.
We should watch for subtly conveying to others that we don’t need kindness, compliments, and support. We may be less tolerant of people who appear to play the victim or seem too out there with their spirituality.
We can feel more comfortable offering tangible help and advice than emotional shows of support.
We should learn to recognize how we may limit ourselves and our experiences if we deny our connection to the more vulnerable, messy, or chaotic side of ourselves. It’s a step-by-step, slow-but-sure process.
During this period, Pisces can be more serious–they’re working on their discipline. They can seem distant, and, in truth, they’re going through things. Virgos can feel some distance in a key relationship or pressure due to a lack in the partnership realm. Scorpios and Cancers can enjoy more discipline and stability. Pressure comes from various life departments for Sagittarians and Geminis–the need for more maturity in these areas can weigh heavily on them sometimes.

Saturn spends most of the year 2026 in Aries.
We can feel uncomfortable with big shows of individuality or me-centered behavior while Saturn is in Aries. However, this period also presents a unique opportunity for growth. As we learn to balance our individual needs with collective responsibilities, we can overcome this discomfort. By recognizing the necessity for this balanced attention, we can expand our potential for personal development. Otherwise, we might inadvertently limit ourselves.
In recent years, there has been much attention to the self. Aries energies have been revered and celebrated. Saturn in Aries aims to moderate this focus where it’s been excessive. We become more critical of this celebration, noting where a “me-first” attitude or “express your true self” at all costs has worked against us, individually and as a whole. Saturn in Aries cringes at excessive self-importance, in fact. However, it may go too far in that direction when the goal should be to correct where things have been immoderate or imbalanced and excessive. Ideally, we’re striving for healthy, balanced levels of self-sacrifice.
During this transit, we can be resourceful. It’s a prime time to evaluate our egoism and self-centeredness, identifying areas where we may assert ourselves to our own detriment. For instance, in our pursuit of ‘living our truth,’ we may inadvertently trample on others’ liberties. The Saturn in Aries transit empowers us to recognize and address these self-centered behaviors, putting us in control of our actions and their consequences.
It’s also a time for exploring our fear of being seen as less than strong or less than “first place.” These fears can limit our experiences as we might bow out of competition or avoid activities where we might appear less than competent. In truth, these experiences could be wonderful if we enjoy them for what they are rather than worry about the outcomes.
Less glorification of the self if it’s merely correcting imbalances can certainly boost our relationships. We might recognize where we’ve been too individualistic at the detriment of our connections. However, it can be a stark period on some levels if we take this too far. We’ll want to avoid mocking one another for taking ourselves seriously, for example. There must be a balance.

Lunation (or New Moon and Full Moon) charts have been used by Mundane Astrologers for many centuries. In later times, people began to compare them to their natal charts.
Generally, you’ll want to use the New Moon, or Conjunction, when you want to start something new or try to break some old patterns. That is the time of the month when you would attempt to start or do these kinds of things. The New Moon is the time of internalizing and looking within yourself.
The Full Moon, or Opposition, is the time when you would try to accomplish the things that were started on a New Moon. The Full Moon is when you look to external events or things get beyond your control.
Things to look at when comparing the Lunation charts to your own:
Houses that the Sun and Moon are transiting in your natal chart.
What aspects do the Sun and Moon make to your natal planets? Are the majority of those aspects easy or hard?
Astrologers also look at the transits to the Lunation charts, particularly to the Moon.
[H3] Eclipses
An eclipse is a far more potent lunation. Look to the house the eclipse falls in your natal chart. The affairs of that house activate. Does the eclipse fall on a planet in your natal chart? That planet will also be activated. The sign of the eclipse plays a role in the likely events that the eclipse will trigger.
Many people fear eclipses because they might bring about a crisis of sorts that leads to a significant event or change. However, this event or change can be very positive.
Eclipses tie in with changing circumstances. However, we are usually the ones to precipitate or to attract changes because our “inner guides” know that we need it. Human beings are progressive by nature. Although we might stay in situations that make us miserable for longer than we should, deep down inside we know that change is necessary for growth.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Several eclipses occur every year. They happen in one particular sign and its opposite sign several times in a set spanning about two years approximately every nine years.
For example, eclipses occurred along the Taurus-Scorpio axis from 2003-2004, then 2012-2014, and then from 2021-2023. Further, eclipses happened along the Aries-Libra axis from 2004-2006, then 2013-2016, and then from 2023-2025. Although they are notable and important in astrology, the media can make a fuss of these fairly regular occurrences, leaving some in a panic or expecting a lot more from the eclipses than they warrant.
It’s important to note that eclipses alone are not responsible for dire events in people’s lives. However, they’re great for identifying current and upcoming themes in the world and our lives.

A Lunar Eclipse is an incredibly potent lunation, in this case, a powerful Full Moon.
Lunar Eclipses are relationship-oriented. The “crisis” these eclipses tend to elicit is a crisis of lack — a time when we suddenly realize a great need or want. The impact of the crisis can sever a relationship — it’s possible — but it can also bring two people together with a sudden awareness of a great need for each other.
Although Lunar Eclipses are more relationship-oriented than Solar Eclipses, they are certainly not always about relationships between two people. They can trigger awareness of what we need or lack in other areas of our lives. For example, they can be about our relationships with our work, health, and bodies.
This is a time when matters come to light — things that have been brewing under the surface. At the same time, another area of our life is temporarily blurred, buried, or obscured.
We can burst forth with proclamations and outpourings when a Full Moon occurs. These seem fresh and new simply because we haven’t yet rationalized them. However, they are usually about matters we’ve buried or kept at bay. A Lunar Eclipse is a more potent Full Moon, and its effects tend to last longer — approximately 6 months.
The Lunar Eclipse on March 3rd, 2026, occurs when the Moon is at 12-13 degrees of Virgo, opposing the Sun at 12-13 degrees of Pisces, and is a Total Lunar Eclipse.
[H2] Eclipse #5 in a Virgo-Pisces set of 7
It’s the fifth eclipse in a set of seven occurring along the Virgo-Pisces axis from September 17th, 2024, to February 20th, 2027. The first one was a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. While we’ve been focusing on building our faith since September 2024, this March 2026 eclipse in Virgo prompts us to get organized and consider how it affects the work-rest balance.
This eclipse serves as a prompt, nudge, or push to make improvements in Virgo- and Pisces-ruled areas of life in our charts, and feelings of discontent can magnify. It’s time to resolve matters, strike a balance, take a lesson, and move on, but take some time with this — eclipses can temporarily hide a part of our lives so we can focus on another. Ultimately, we should be striving for a balance.
This eclipse affects people with personal planets and points at 8 to 18 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) most significantly.
Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. With the Virgo-Pisces axis involved, this Lunar Eclipse presses us to look more closely at our needs, lacks, and wants concerning the balance between Virgo-ruled and Pisces-ruled areas of life. We are encouraged to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). At this time, we’re working more on the Virgo side of the equation. In other words, it’s an important time to make order in our lives, attend to details, and focus on physical health and wellness.
Virgo rules the tools and techniques we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces rules the tools we use to deal with our spiritual selves. The key to balance lies in identifying and expressing our spiritual needs while maintaining order in our everyday lives. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire — we would either be living in chaos or in excessive order.
The contrast between precise, logical, work-centered, factual Virgo and spiritual, compassionate, holistic Pisces comes into full bloom after this eclipse. The energy of the Virgo Moon is the awareness of the need for more precision, attention to detail, and responsibility. The Pisces Sun, on the other hand, is visionary — focused on what’s universal and hard to define.
This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of a personal nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the coming months, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, it’s difficult to sit on our feelings. We need to express them.
With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we should exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.

We shouldn’t ignore the Sun’s role in this eclipse–its Pisces position in our charts shows where we have focused our energies in recent months, sometimes to the detriment of the Virgo area of our charts, and now, we need to find a balance.
Our feelings count, and we’ll see and feel their power now, paving the road for new directions. However, this can be an impulsive and misguided time to act. It’s better to observe, take in, and process before jumping into action.
We might open ourselves up to possibilities, examining the emotions that surface, but finalizing plans should probably be saved for a later date.
We’ll be doing some work in these areas until February 2027, and our greater awareness of problems, especially gaps or flaws — significant ones — can ultimately help us make better, more balanced choices.

The Sun is in Gemini from May 20-June 21. Knowledge and diversity motivate us with the Sun in Gemini. We are more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. Due to this curiosity and awareness of all our options, we tend to scatter our energies. We are more communicative and versatile, but we can also be unreliable.
