Add scripts to your scenes and customize built-in behavior to implement your unique game mechanics. Rely on composition and node hierarchy to make game logic clear at a glance. [H4] Extend beyond features provided by the engine Make your scenes into full-featured components, with tools for your designers to tweak and adjust the look and function. Share your components with the community of like-minded developers as addons and templates. [H4] Create data-driven elements with custom resources Define scriptable objects called resources to describe characters, entities, and data structures in your game. Use your custom objects directly in the editor by assigning them to nodes. Resources come with a high-level API to store and read them, and they support every Godot type, including other resources. [H3] Coding tools that fit your needs [H4] Write code without hurdles with a high-level scripting language Get things done quickly with Godot's built-in scripting language GDScript. Inspired by Python and other languages, it is easy to pick up even if you are a beginner. Tight engine integration allows it to express game logic in a clear and natural form.GDScript offers optional static typing support, boosting your coding efficiency and runtime performance. Powerful language features and first-class functions allow for expressive yet concise code. [H4] Leverage your C# experience to feel right at home If you're an experienced C# user, Godot offers you first-class support for the .NET platform. Power your games with familiar libraries and give them a performance boost, while still benefiting from close engine integration.Note: .NET support is provided as a dedicated engine executable. C# support is available for desktop and mobile platforms as of Godot 4.2. Web support should be added in the future, but until then, Godot 3 remains a supported option. [H4] Pick from a variety of community-supported languages Godot is built to be extended, and that means you can choose a programming language not provided by the Godot team itself. Thanks to our community there are many language bindings for popular tools like Rust, Nim, Python, and JavaScript.C++ support comes officially in the form of the GDExtension API, which gives you a way to script and program your game components for maximum performance without having to recompile the engine. [H4] Modify the engine itself and integrate with third-party libraries Thanks to the modular structure and straightforward build process of Godot you can create your own engine modules. Gain every last drop of performance or integrate with many third-party libraries with low-level C++ code. [H3] Simple yet powerful 3D engine [H4] Support both high and low-end devices Make beautiful 3D games for a range of devices, from powerful desktop computers to mid-range Android phones. Powered by OpenGL, Godot allows your projects to run on most modern GPUs, including integrated graphics. With the Vulkan, Direct3D 12, and Metal renderers, and a set of modern graphical features, bring your worlds to life and harvest the power of gaming GPUs for your benefit. [H4] Seamlessly integrate with your asset pipeline Bring your 3D models into your game world with a robust importing pipeline. Take entire scenes — with animated models, lighting, cameras, and physics objects — and customize how the engine views them. Modify your assets and see changes in the engine immediately.Import Blender files directly for fast iterations or use familiar glTF and FBX formats. [H4] Create animated videos and prerendered cutscenes in engine With the Movie Maker mode, you can record gameplay and scripted scenes from your project at a stable framerate and guaranteed simulation speed. Together with Godot's animation capabilities, make the most out of the engine's visuals. [H3] Specialized 2D workflow for games and apps [H4] Work with a real 2D and pixel-based unit system Thanks to a dedicated 2D pipeline, you can forget about the Z-axis, and simplify your game logic. Think in pixels and screen coordinates, while the engine does the rest. [H4] Save time creating 2D worlds with a tile map editor Whether you want procedural generation or a meticulously hand-crafted level, with Godot's built-in tile map editor you can achieve every goal. Import a sprite and convert it into a database of building blocks for your 2D worlds. [H4] Master usability with a flexible GUI system Build scalable and adaptive user interfaces with Godot's unique GUI system. Created specifically to power layouts common to games, it is also capable of handling complex UI applications and tools. For an example of what Godot's UI system is capable of, see the Godot editor itself! [H3] Exemplary XR support [H4] Built-in OpenXR and WebXR support Both OpenXR and WebXR support is built directly into the engine. Setting up an XR project takes only minutes.Godot is at the forefront of OpenXR development, leading with support for OpenXR extensions ranging from hand tracking and body tracking, to spatial understanding APIs like scene discovery and spatial entities.Deploy to a myriad of XR devices directly from the Godot editor for true cross-platform development.Other XR SDKs are supported through community-maintained plugins. [H4] XR Toolkits The first-party Godot XR Tools addon allows you to hit the ground running with high-level implementations of common XR features such as locomotion, teleportation, object interaction, and more! [H4] Author games on your headset The Godot editor is natively supported on various headsets. Add a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you can author your game while on the go, on a large virtual screen. This includes live editing the immersive experience around you! [H3] Choice of many developers Watch our annual showreel videos to see more examples of projects using Godot! [IMG: Showreel: 2025 Godot Games] [IMG: Showreel: 2024 Godot Games] [IMG: Showreel: 2023 Godot Games] [IMG: Showreel: 2022 Godot Desktop Games] [H3] Cross-platform support with one project [H4] Deliver your game to desktop, mobile, and web Develop and publish your project on any modern desktop platform. Let everyone play your game by deploying to web and mobile. Make your game handle various forms of inputs and share the same project between every platform. [H4] Test directly on your target device Iterate on real hardware, or with an emulator, by deploying your game directly to the target device over SSH. Run any project on a mobile device, on another desktop, or on your favorite Linux-based handheld with full debug and inspect capabilities. [H4] Partner with a publisher to target consoles If you want to release to a console, you can find several third-party publishers which specialize in that. Godot games can run on any modern hardware, so all you need to worry about is your performance and controls.Read more about console support in Godot. [H3] Completely open and free [H4] Download and create with no contracts or hidden fees Godot is free under the MIT license. This means you don't owe us anything (other than a friendly mention), and can do with your project or even the engine itself whatever you want. Build your game or build your own engine on top of it — it's all in your hands. [H4] Find the logic behind any system in an open-source codebase No need to wait for a support team to respond when you can read the source code. Godot is an open book, and you can figure out everything that is not yet documented after a single git checkout. If you find and fix an issue, we will appreciate a PR upstream too.View a complete list of featuresView a list of priorities for upcoming features [H2] Ready to start? SUB-PAGE (https://godotengine.org/consoles/) Console Support – Godot Engine
[H2] Console support in Godot [H2] Godot and console porting [H4] Closed ecosystems Consoles are closed platforms that require special permissions, SDKs, and hardware. They're bound by strict NDAs and legal rules. While Godot can't offer official support due to its open source license, approved developers can still ship console games using Godot through certified third-party providers. [H4] An open source system Godot is MIT-licensed and fully open source, no NDAs, no restricted tools, and no legal liability. Console development requires the opposite: legal contracts and closed access. To preserve its values of openness and freedom, the Godot Foundation does not maintain official console ports. [H4] Console porting in Godot You can release a Godot game on consoles if you're approved by the platform holder and use official SDKs, either building tools yourself or using licensed third-party middleware.Godot runs on consoles, but export templates must be built with official SDKs and can only be shared privately with approved developers. Several third-party companies offer this middleware under the necessary legal constraints.More info: https://godotengine.org/article/about-official-console-ports/ [H4] What's the console porting process? To start the process of bringing your Godot game to consoles, you'll need to:Register as a developer with the console manufacturerBe approved and gain access to dev tools & SDKsObtain a devkit (confidential pricing)Use or build console export templatesRate your game with regional agencies (ESRB, PEGI, etc.)Either do the porting in-house or partner with a trusted vendor [H2] Middleware (download and self-port) Middleware ports are available directly from the console vendor's portal. These provide a version of Godot that runs natively on the target console. You are still responsible for adapting your game to each platform, but since the engine itself is already ported, the workload is significantly reduced.W4 Games offers official middleware ports for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.The list of service providers below is not necessarily exhaustive and it is not a guarantee of quality. It is advisable to check with each provider whether its services are fit for purpose, and to compare offers, reviews and costs before committing to any service. 🔗 Identity & Technical Layer — schema JSON-LD: identity chains, entity gaps (Identity & Authority)
Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 830 businesses audited.
Godot Engine has 21.5 points less BS than the average for Software, SaaS & Tech Products.
Software, SaaS & Tech Products BS: Godot Engine (godotengine.org)
Godot Engine represents a gold standard for low-BS technical communication. It operates as a transparent utility rather than a marketing funnel, using its release history and licensing terms as its primary substance. The site is a rare example where the substance (the engine and its archive) significantly outweighs the marketing signal.
Implement Organization and SoftwareApplication JSON-LD schema to bridge the authority gap and connect the domain to its GitHub and social entities. Quantify marketing hyperbole such as ‘stability has tripled’ with specific bug-fix counts or reduced crash-rate percentages from the changelog. Link corporate sponsor logos directly to a public sponsorship or financial transparency page if available. Replace the few generic [H4] headings with more descriptive technical titles.
The site perfectly aligns with the Game Development Software industry. The content is heavily focused on technical specifications, rendering APIs, and licensing models specific to software engine architecture.
“The score of 11 is driven by the total lack of semantic drift and the overwhelming technical specificity of the body text. Points were only awarded for minor marketing hyperbole (Stability has tripled), the absence of structured schema data, and a small number of generic headings. The site is almost entirely composed of substance.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Godot Engine, captured on May 27, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Godot Engine: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
