Conditions applicable to all Flight Credits
Flight Credits are valid until the expiry date shown on your Flight Credit, unless an extension has been applied.
Flight Credits can be used for multiple future bookings. If you don't use the full value of your Flight Credit in one transaction, and the remainder is more than $2 per person, a new Flight Credit will be issued with the same expiry date.
Flight Credits are valid for bookings and travel within 12 months of your original booking date.
Once you commence using your Flight Credit, the fare rules from your original booking no longer apply, except the cancellation conditions, which continue to apply unless the cancellation policy of the new booking is more restrictive. If your new booking has a more restrictive cancellation policy, then those cancellation conditions will apply.
For bookings made on or before 30 September 2021, you can get a refund of your unused or remaining Flight Credit value at any time, including after 31 December 2023 when your Flight Credit is no longer valid for rebooking. Contact your local Qantas office to request a refund.
For bookings made from 1 October 2021, any value not used before the expiry date is non-refundable (except in certain circumstances including under the Australian Consumer Law) and will be forfeited.
Flight Credits can be used online towards one way or return bookings from the country in which the original ticket was issued. To redeem a Flight Credit for a flight departing outside of that country, for a multi-city itinerary or an itinerary including Jetstar flights, contact your local Qantas office.
Flight Credits are non-transferable.
Flight Credits can only be redeemed at Manage booking or through your local Qantas office. A change booking fee may apply.
Name changes are not permitted.
Any applicable fare difference applies when redeeming your Flight Credit.
Additional conditions for Flight Credits issued when Qantas has cancelled your flight
No fees apply.
For bookings made from 1 October 2021, refunds must be requested before using the Flight Credit and before its expiry date.
Additional conditions for Flight Credits issued when you have cancelled your flight
Any change fees that were applicable to the original booking will be charged on the first redemption of the Flight Credit (unless they have been waived).
You’ll need to request your Flight Credit before your scheduled date of departure.
The cancellation conditions of the original booking will apply to your Flight Credit. Refer to the fare rules. If your original fare rules permitted a refund, you'll need to request a refund before using the Flight Credit and before the expiry date. If you don't use your Flight Credit before the expiry date, the Flight Credit value will be forfeited unless the original fare rules permitted a refund, and your refund request was submitted prior to the expiry date.

If you're travelling on a domestic flight departing from an international terminal, you can still check in through the app or online.

Photo identification is required for all passengers 18 years of age and older.

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Travel, Tourism & Booking Platforms BS: Qantas Airways Limited (www.qantas.com)
Qantas delivers a high-utility, low-nonsense digital experience that prioritizes logistical transparency over marketing fluff. It is a rare example of a corporate site where the substance of the service facilitation exceeds the signal of the brand’s self-praise.
1. Replace self-contained review counts with direct links to verified third-party platforms like Trustpilot or Skytrax. 2. Explicitly cite the specific awards won when using the ‘award-winning’ heading on the homepage. 3. Include ATOL and ABTA membership numbers directly in the body text of the UK-facing pages to meet industry proof expectations for the GB market. 4. Link the ‘award-winning wine and food’ claim to a dedicated page detailing current menus or specific producer partnerships to move it from branding to substance.
The website perfectly aligns with the Travel, Tourism & Booking Platforms category, specifically as a full-service international airline. The content is heavily focused on operational logistics, flight booking, and regional travel facilitation rather than generic travel blog content.
“The low BS score of 15 is driven by exceptional technical implementation and high information density. The points lost were primarily in the Trust and Proof pillar due to the 'trust_theatre_flag' being triggered by reviews without external proof links, and minor points in Commodity Fingerprint for standard airline marketing clichés.”
