The Spirit of Dublin
Whiskey making and entrepreneurship have been in the Teeling genes as far back as 1782 when Walter Teeling set up a small craft distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the industrial centre of Dublin City.
Since 2012, Jack and Stephen Teeling, the latest generation of Teeling whiskey makers, have been putting their own mark on Irish whiskey and came full circle in 2015 when they proudly opened the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery just down the road from where the original family distillery once stood. It is the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years and has won several international accolades for excellence over the years.

Even if you don’t drink whiskey (your loss ;)) the Teeling Whiskey Tour/Tasting is a must-do in Dublin. Learning about how whiskey is made plus the history of why whisky is not just something to drink, but an important part of Irish culture was awesome. Our guide Aiveen knew everything you’d want to know about the entire process and was engaging and fun. The building is beautiful with a custom bar with Teeling crafted cocktails of which my wife Beth and I are drinking right now :)

Wow what a great day! wonderful experience, we enjoyed our tour and found out so much information about the irish whiskey produced at Teelings. [H5] what are the teeling whiskey distillery opening hours?
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is open 7 days a week. We’re open all year round apart from 24th, 25th, and 26th December.

Tours: 11 am – 6 pm (Mon-Fri), 11 am – 7 pm (Saturday), 11 am – 6 pm (Sunday)
Gift Shop: 12 pm – 7 pm
Bang Bang Bar: 12pm – 7pm (Mon-Sat), 12.30pm – 7pm (Sunday)
Phoenix Café: 8 am – 4 pm (Mon-Fri), 10 am – 6 pm (weekends and Bank Holidays)

[H5] do i have to purchase a ticket to visit the café or gift shop?
No tickets are needed to visit our Phoenix Café, Bang Bang Bar or Distillery Giftshop. These areas are open to the public seven days a week and all are welcome!

[H5] can i book the teeling whiskey distillery for an event?
We have options to book various meeting and event spaces during the day as well as options to rent out the full distillery for larger events after our normal opening hours. Please contact the events team for more information – events@teelingwhiskey.com.

[H5] i don’t have time to take the tour, but i would like to do a whiskey tasting, is this possible?
If you don’t have time to do a tour, you can still sample some of our large range of award winning whiskeys by going directly to our bar. The Bang Bang Bar is open to the public seven days a week with no booking required. Wherever possible, we will try to arrange a guided tasting with a member of staff, but cannot guarantee this during busy periods. Written notes and information are available as an alternative.

[H5] How do the Gift Cards work?
Gift cards are available on our website and can be loaded with the value of your choice. The cards have no expiry date and are valid for use at our café, bar and gift shop as well as to purchase tour tickets.
Once you purchase a gift card on our website, it will be sent out to you in the post. You can give the card to your friend and they can get in touch with our reservations department by contacting reservations@teelingwhiskey.com whenever they are ready to book! Please note only the physical card is valid, not the order confirmation email.

[H5] I have a voucher, how can I book?
If you have a voucher, pass, coupon or gift card, these won’t work via our online booking system. Luckily our reservations team are available to help and will be more than happy to make a reservation for you! If you are having issues paying for your tickets via our online booking site, please call our reservations department on +353 1 5310888 and we will be able to assist.

Groups of 15 people and under can be booked onto public tours via our website.

[H5] are there tours offered in different languages?
Our guided tours are conducted in English but you are welcome to listen along in your preferred language, using our audio guide app. There is no need to download anything, just scan the QR code provided with your smartphone, and the audio guide will open on your default browser. You will need headphones in order to listen to the audio guide, for hygiene reasons we ask that guests provide their own headphones.
The audio guide is available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Mandarin.

[H5] I’d like to order products from your online shop, but I live overseas – can I get these items shipped?
We are happy to ship items from our online store to the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, within the European Union, and to many other countries around the world.
When purchasing from outside of the EU import taxes and duties may apply.
Whiskeys cannot be shipped to the US, Canada, Brazil, Russia or South Africa.
Due to the latest tax & duty implications as a result of BREXIT, we unfortunately will not be able to ship to the UK until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this and look forward to finding a solution soon.

[H5] Can I make an order from the online shop and collect my products directly from the distillery?
When purchasing items from our online store, you are welcome to select ‘local collection’ instead of delivery. This will allow you to pick your order up directly from our distillery in Newmarket Square. Please note that not all orders will be ready for collection on the day of purchase. If you would like to check on the status of your order, please call +353 1 5310888 and ask to speak to a member of our shop team.

Our Distillery Exclusive Whiskey can be personalised with a name, date or message on the label, making this a truly special gift or keepsake! You can order online here, or visit our gift shop any day of the week between 12.30pm and 6pm.

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is located in the historic Liberties area, right in the heart of Dublin’s city centre. Click here for directions.

[H5] what is the best way to the teeling whiskey distillery by public transport?
Our Distillery is less than a 20-minute walk from Dublin city centre, but we can also be reached by public transport. A number of Dublin Buses stop nearby on St. Luke’s Avenue - Routes 151, 27, 56a, 77a.
We are a 19-minute walk from both Stephen’s Green & Harcourt Street Luas stops.
We are a 30-minute walk from Tara Street Dart Station.

[H5] is there car and/or coach parking available?
There are a limited number of car pay and display parking spaces as well as a limited number of parking spaces specifically for coaches outside the distillery.

[H5] is the whiskey distillery accessible?
Our distillery is fully wheelchair accessible, with a small detour required in one area of the tour. Access to the Bang Bang Bar and Gift Shop is via a lift, and our Phoenix Café is located on the ground floor of the building.
A short video plays at the beginning of our guided tours and this contains flashing images. Please let the staff know in advance if this will be an issue for you and we will be happy to accommodate.
Please note we are a fully operational distillery, which means that the factory floor can be quite loud or warm at times. This may be uncomfortable for those with sensory issues.

If you arrive up to 10 min after your tour time, we will try our very best to have you catch up with the tour. If you arrive after this time unfortunately you will not be able to join your scheduled tour. However, we will do our very best to get you on the next available tour! We recommend that you arrive 10 mins prior to your scheduled tour time.

[H5] I can no longer make my tour, is it possible to reschedule?
If you can no longer make your tour reservation and would like to reschedule, this is no problem. Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can resell the tickets as we have a limited number of spaces on each tour.

[H5] Can children come on the tour?
Children can visit the distillery as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult and supervised at all times.
Children under 10 years of age are welcome admission free, and children between 10 and 17 years are entitled to a child ticket at the price of €10. These can be purchased by contacting our reservations team at reservations@teelingwhiskey.com.
Please note we are a fully operational distillery, which means that the production floor can be quite loud or warm at times. This may be uncomfortable for very young children or those with sensory issues.

[H5] Do I need to bring a printed copy of my booking confirmation?
There is no need to bring a physical copy of your booking confirmation in order to collect your tickets. If you provide the name that the booking was placed under we can locate it within our system. If you are able to bring your booking reference via your phone, this will also assist us to locate it.

[H5] Do you accept the Dublin Pass?
We accept the Go City Dublin Pass at the distillery.
This pass gives you entry to a guided tour of our distillery plus a guided tasting of one whiskey and one cocktail per person. Upgraded options are available for purchase on arrival, a member of our front desk team would be happy to assist if this is something you are interested in.
The duration of the experience is approximately 45 minutes, including the whiskey tasting.
Advance bookings are highly recommended. These can be made by contacting our reservations team at reservations@teelingwhiskey.com.

[H5] What is the difference between the ticket options?
Teeling Tasting
The Teeling Tasting includes a fully guided tour of our distillery followed by a tasting of our flagship blended Small Batch whiskey, and a handcrafted seasonal cocktail. The price is €18 per person.
If you wouldn’t consider yourself a whiskey fan but would like to try something new, this is a great entry level tasting!
The Teeling Tasting option can be made non-alcoholic on request. Just let a member of our team know when you collect your tickets, and we will be happy to prepare a non-alcoholic cocktail or ‘mocktail’ for you to enjoy after the tour.

Trinity Tasting
The Trinity Tasting includes a fully guided tour of our distillery followed by a tasting of our flagship blended Small Batch Whiskey, Single Grain Whiskey and Single Malt Whiskey. These three whiskeys comprise the core Teeling range or ‘Trinity’, and you will receive a 20ml tasting measure of each. The price is €25 per person.
This is a great introduction to the innovative Teeling range, and previous whiskey fans may come away with a new favourite dram of choice! It’s also an excellent overview of the various different styles and classifications of whiskey generally available on the market. So, if you’re a newcomer looking to improve your whiskey knowledge, this is the tasting for you.

"We did not take the tour so cannot comment - this review is strictly for the Bang Bang bar. You do not need to be on a tour to visit the bar. Just walk up the steps behind the 1st floor cafe. We had probably the best cocktails we've ever had at this bar. Tried every drink on the menu and they were all fantastic with super fresh ingredients. The irish coffee is of course amazing (the fresh cream they use tastes sooooo good), but I would really encourage you to try the other cocktails! Bar staff is also so friendly. Definitely try the winter spiced tea!"
