It is difficult to put into words how Penryn and Falmouth funeral directors helped us during such a difficult time. Not only had our father passed away, but he lived in Cornwall, 343 miles away from our home in Ramsgate Kent. It’s hard enough arranging a funeral for a loved one, but it could have been made even more stressful without their help. Robin and Roy and the rest of the team sent emails and made phone calls so the arrangements could be put in place before our long journey to say goodbye to our Dad. The service was perfect and everything we could have hoped for and we couldn’t recommend them more highly to anyone needing their services. Thank you so much! — Bob and Barbara Atkins

[H2] Registering a death
When someone dies, their death must be registered, and we will offer you guidance and help you need with this. This is the only thing we cannot, by law, do on your behalf. Please ask us if you are at all unsure. Unless the registrar says that the period may be extended, deaths should be registered within five days, and an appointment needs to be made with the Registrar of Deaths in the district in which the death occurred. The process of registering a death begins with the doctor on call or your own family doctor who will refer the death to the Medical Examiners office (who will issue the death certificate to the registrar). When a death occurs in hospital the Bereavement Office will contact you (they will ensure the death is referred to the Medical Examiners Office) and they will help you with the necessary formalities which take place at the hospital. Once a death has been referred to the Medical Examiners office a member of staff will contact you to explain the next steps. When the death certificate is issued by the medical examiners they will invite you to contact the Registration Service to register the death. You can make an appointment to register a death in Cornwall by telephoning 0300 1234 181. More information can be found on Cornwall Council's website, including the Tell Us Once service that they can offer. The Registration Service can, with your permission, contact to the Department for Work and Pensions and they will tell other government departments and local council services. We will be happy to guide you through the process, and make sure that you have all the information to hand that the registrar will require
[H3] Information Leaflets
Leaflets relating to benefits are also available from the Registrar, and they are always pleased to help with any questions you might have.

Planning ahead for your funeral brings peace of mind for you and for your family. Penryn & Falmouth Funeral Directors are very pleased to offer Golden Charter Funeral Plans, which enable you to choose the funeral you want at today's prices.
[H2] Your funeral, your way
A funeral plan is an easy way to arrange the funeral you want in advance. A plan allows you to specify your wishes and pay for the funeral director’s services included in your plan. As customers often tell us, that can bring peace of mind to you and your family. A plan from Golden Charter also includes an allowance towards third party costs. These are essential, non-funeral director services such as the cremation or burial fees, plus the minister or officiant’s fee to perform the service. The value of the allowance included in your plan may grow over time. There will only be more to pay at the time of the funeral if the third party costs exceed the allowance when you buy your plan, or if the costs increase by more than the growth of your plan.At Penryn & Falmouth Funeral Directors Ltd, we work in partnership with Golden Charter to provide you with a simple way to plan ahead. Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Implement FuneralService structured data in the JSON-LD to include GeoCoordinates and official opening hours. Fix the heading hierarchy across all pages, specifically adding H1 tags to pages like the homepage and When Someone Dies where they are currently missing. Link the internal testimonials to an external third-party verified source to remove the ‘trust theatre’ penalty. Add a Person schema for the named directors to bridge the digital footprint gap.

The website is an exact match for the Funeral Services industry. All content is deeply rooted in death care logistics, bereavement support, and local Cornish funeral traditions.

“The score of 22 is driven primarily by the use of soft industry-standard headings and a generic technical schema implementation. It is kept exceptionally low by the high density of specific, verifiable details, regulatory compliance markers, and the total absence of semantic drift.”
