[H1] Know your skin

[H4] We’ve put together some great tips to help you learn more about your personal care needs and the Clere products that are most suitable for you. Have fun learning more about, well, you and us!

[H2] Skincare & personal care tips

What can I use for uneven skin tone, dark marks, dark spots and hyperpigmentation?
For uneven skin tone, dark marks, dark spots and hyperpigmentation we recommend using our Clere Radiance 5 oils or our Clere Radiance Body Crème with Argan oil.

What can I use to reduce the appearance of my stretch marks?
For reducing the appearance of stretch marks, we recommend you use our Clere Repairing lotions or cremes. You can also use our Clere Radiance 5 Oils + Glycerine which is enriched with Argan oil, Almond oil, Castor oil, Coconut Oil and Magnolia oil. 9 out of 10 women who used the Clere Radiance 5 Oils saw a reduction on the appearance of their stretch marks after 12 weeks.

What can I use for my dry skin to give it that ‘glowing’ look and feel?
For dry skin or to give your skin the ‘glowing’ look and feel we recommend that you use our Clere Nourishing Range of cremes and lotions along with our Clere Gly-Co-Oil. You can also use our Clere Radiance 5 oils + Glycerine.

What can I use for my dry, cracked heels?
For cracked heels we recommend that you use the Clere petroleum jelly at night before going to bed. Please ensure to wear socks after application to lock in the moisture.

What can I use for my dry and very damaged skin?
You can try the Herbal Camphor Repairing Crème for your body. Enriched with Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera and Vitamins E & A to moisturise and restore your skin, while soothing your senses with its Herbal Camphor fragrance. You can also add our Gly-co-oil to the routine.

What does Gly-Co-Oil™ help with?
It is a moisturising Glycerine and nourishing Tissue Oil. This powerful 2-in-1 mix revitalises dry, dehydrated skin and it reduces stretch marks.

What can I use for my dry, itchy and sensitive skin?
Our Clere Pure & Protect Aqueous Cream is suitable for all skin types, including dry, itchy and sensitive skin. It is approved by the Allergy Foundation of South Africa. This product is hypoallergenic, fragrance free, colourant free and paraben free. It is gentle enough to use on adults and babies.

Can I use Clere crèmes and lotions for my face?
You can use body creams and lotions on your face but it is not recommended, especially for regular use. Facial skin is more sensitive than the body, hence it could easily be irritated by the fragrances used in the body creams/lotion. Face creams are specially designed to cater for the delicate facial skin. it is for your body not for your face. It has too many ingredients and fragrances that will irritate your face and might cause a breakout. For your face, we recommend that you use our Clere Radiance Face range.

What is the difference between the Nourishing Range and the Repairing Range?
Nourishing is adding moisture in your body and Repairing is fixing the skin from any damage that might be caused by scarring, stretchmarks or other factors that could damage the skin (does not including aging). This happens when you have scars or stretchmarks to reduce the appearance.

How to tell the difference between dry and dehydrated skin
Dry and dehydrated skin can be frustrating and uncomfortable, often causing flakiness, tightness, and a dull complexion. However, while they may seem similar, dry skin and dehydrated skin have different causes and need specific approaches to help them.Dry skin is a skin type characterised by a lack of natural oils or lipids in the skin. It is usually a genetic predisposition, and people with dry skin may experience constant dryness, roughness, and a tendency to develop fine lines and wrinkles. Environmental factors such as cold weather, low humidity, and excessive exposure to hot water or harsh chemicals can make dry skin worse.Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, is a temporary condition caused by a lack of water or moisture in the skin. It can affect any skin type, including oily or combination skin. Common causes of dehydrated skin include excessive sun exposure, air conditioning, central heating, a poor diet, and certain medications. Dehydrated skin often feels tight, looks dull, and may show signs of sensitivity or inflammation.Fortunately, dry or dehydrated skin doesn’t have to be a constant battle – all you need to do is follow our easy set of tips.

How to banish dry or dehydrated skin: Solutions for a radiant complexion
Although there are differences between dry and dehydrated skin, you can take care of both by following these easy tips:
Hydrating skincare routine: Establish a consistent skincare routine that prioritises hydration. Apply a rich, nourishing moisturiser that suits your skin type to restore and protect your skin barrier. Clere Radiance 5 Oils + Glycerine body lotions and crèmes are formulated with Argan, Almond, Coconut, Magnolia and Castor oil, to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks* and reveal your glow. Plus, the crèmes and lotions provide 48 hours of moisture.
Drink plenty of water: Ensure you are drinking enough water throughout the day to maintain optimal hydration levels. Aim for at least eight glasses of water daily and consider incorporating hydrating beverages such as herbal teas or infused water with slices of cucumber or citrus fruits.
Humidify the air: Combat dry indoor environments by using a humidifier. It will add moisture to the air, helping to prevent water loss from the skin. Place it in your bedroom or office to create a more humid atmosphere and alleviate dryness.
Protect your skin from environmental factors: Shield your skin from harsh weather conditions. In cold weather, wear protective clothing, including hats, scarves, and gloves. Try and limit your exposure to hot water during showers or baths, as it can strip the skin of its natural oils.
Nourish from within: Support your skin’s health by following a well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats. These foods provide essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote skin hydration and overall radiance. Additionally, limit your intake of caffeine, and sugary drinks, as they can dehydrate the body and contribute to dull, lacklustre skin.
Exfoliate: Incorporate gentle exfoliation into your skincare routine to remove dead skin cells and allow better absorption of hydrating products.
Make some lifestyle changes: Certain lifestyle habits can contribute to skin dryness or dehydration. Prioritise stress management techniques such as meditation, exercise, or engaging in activities you enjoy, as stress can make a skin condition worse.
By putting these practical solutions into action, you can restore your skin’s moisture balance and achieve a radiant, healthy complexion. Consistency is key, so be patient and give your skin time to heal and rejuvenate. Remember, healthy skin starts from within, so prioritise hydration, nourishment, and self-care for long-lasting results.
*9/10 users saw an improvement in their stretch marks in 12 weeks.

How to love the skin you're in
Embrace your natural beauty with these tips that will help you take care of your body inside and out:
Moisturise: Just like the skin on your face, the skin on your body can become dry, especially during the winter months. Using a moisturiser daily will help keep your skin hydrated and soft. Clere’s Repairing body lotions and crèmes, enriched with Tissue Oil and Pure Glycerine, not only moisturise the skin, but also help to reduce the appearance of stretch marks*.
Exfoliate: Exfoliating your body can help remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Use a body scrub or a dry brush to exfoliate your skin.
Sun protection: It’s important to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 when you’re outside for an extended period.
Eat a healthy diet: Eating a healthy and balanced diet can help nourish your skin from the inside out. Make sure to include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats in your diet.
Hydrate: Drinking plenty of water is important for keeping your skin hydrated and healthy.
Exercise: Regular exercise can help improve circulation, which can help keep your skin looking healthy and vibrant.
Remember to love the skin you’re in and treat your body with kindness and care. By taking care of your skin and body, you’ll not only look better, but you’ll also feel better, both inside and out!
*8 out of 10 women saw an improvement in their stretch marks and it helped even their skin tone after 12 weeks of continued use.

Stretch marks and uneven skin? This is how you reveal your glow!
We have lovingly formulated our Clere Radiance body care range to address two key concerns that stand in the way of a women’s natural glow – stretch marks and uneven skin tone:
Clere Radiance 5 Oils + Glycerine is enriched with Argan Oil, Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil and Magnolia Oil to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, and leave you with glowing skin.
Clere Radiance Argan Oil & Almond Oil + Vitamin B3 is enriched with Argan Oil and Almond Oil, as well as Vitamin B3, to help even your skin tone, leaving it radiant and glowing.
Of course, the glow is in the oils! And yes, we know that many of you already mix extra oils into your lotions and crèmes. Now, with Clere Radiance, you can enjoy all the benefits of our oil-enriched lotions or crèmes, without the hassle of mixing them yourself:
Argan Oil: A go-to oil for reducing the appearance of stretch marks, Argan Oil can even help prevent them from forming. It is equally effective in evening skin tone as it is ultra-hydrating and preventing dry and flaky skin.
Almond Oil: Known and loved for its ability to improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of scars.
Coconut Oil: A powerful moisturiser that helps to reduce skin inflammation.
Castor Oil: A natural skin moisturiser that helps keep skin healthy and glowing.
Magnolia Oil: Excellent for reducing redness and puffiness to help achieve even and luminous skin.
Does it work? Our research says it definitely does: 9 out of 10 women saw an improvement in their concerns! Now it’s your turn to choose the variant best suited to your needs… and reveal your glow!

How to protect your skin, so your skin can protect you
Did you know that the skin is your body’s largest organ? And, as such, it plays a very important role in maintaining healthy skin. But, certain skincare practices can disrupt the delicate balance of microorganisms that make up your skin, referred to as the skin’s microbiome, which can lead to all kinds of skin problems. By changing these harmful habits, you can protect your skin and your overall health. Here are 4 easy tips to help you do just that:1. Avoid over-exfoliation: Exfoliating is an essential part of any skincare routine, as it helps to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. However, over-exfoliating can damage the skin’s barrier and disrupt the skin’s microbiome. To avoid over-exfoliation, limit your use of physical exfoliants to once or twice a week and opt for chemical exfoliants that are gentle on the skin.2. Moisturise regularly: Keeping your skin moisturised is crucial for maintaining a healthy skin barrier and protecting the skin’s microbiome. When your skin is dry, it is more susceptible to damage and irritation, which can disrupt the skin’s microbiome. To protect your skin, moisturise it regularly with a hydrating moisturiser. Clere’s range of body crèmes and lotions, enriched with moisturising and nourishing ingredients such as Tissue Oil, Glycerine and Multi-Vitamin Serum, provides 48 hours of moisture. To learn more about our lotions and crèmes, please click here.3. Eat a healthy diet: Your skin’s microbiome is influenced by what you eat. Eating a healthy, balanced diet that is rich in prebiotic and probiotic foods can help to support healthy skin.4. Protect your skin from the sun: Exposure to UV rays can damage the skin’s microbiome. Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

Why fewer skincare products are better than too many
With so many skincare products to choose from, it’s easy to end up with a load of products that your skin simply doesn’t need. In fact, your skin is much more likely to thrive naturally and glow from within, when you use a smaller selection of products that are suited for your skin type and skincare needs. Here’s why:Less is more: Overloading your skin with many different products can damage its natural balance, leading to irritation, breakouts, and other skin concerns. By using fewer products, you minimise the risk of overwhelming your skin and allow it to function optimally.Focus on quality: Instead of buying many different products, rather only get the products that address your specific skincare concerns. This approach ensures you are providing your skin with the best possible care and ingredients it needs. To make it easier for you to choose the right Clere lotion or crème, each of our ranges have been formulated to take care of a specific skin need:To help improve the appearance of stretch marks, choose between Clere Repairing and Clere Radiance 5 Oils + Glycerine lotions and crèmes. For radiant, glowing skin, you need our Clere Nourishing lotions and crèmes. To help even your skin tone, try Clere Radiance Argan Oil & Almond Oil + Vitamin B3.To deeply moisturise your skin, choose the Clere Rich Moisture range of lotions and crèmes. For nourished, fragranced skin, look no further than Clere Beautiful lotions and crèmes. If you have sensitive skin, soothe it with a Clere Pure & Protect cream or lotion.Time-saving and cost-effective: Simplifying your skincare routine means you spent less time applying multiple products and less money on buying new ones all the time. A minimal routine can be both efficient and budget-friendly, giving you more time and resources to focus on other important things in your life.Improved skin barrier function: Using too many skincare products can damage your skin’s natural barrier function. By using a minimal number of gentle, nourishing products, you support your skin’s barrier, improving its ability to retain moisture and defend your skin against environmental stressors, like harmful bacteria.Embracing self-care: Following a minimal skincare routine is not just about the products you use, but also about how you think about taking care of yourself. By simplifying your routine, you have more time to enjoy taking care of your skin and loving its unique beauty!

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Beauty, Cosmetics & Personal Care BS: Clere (clere.co.za)

https://clere.co.za 📍 Industry: Beauty, Cosmetics & Personal Care
46 BS / 100

Clere is a classic mass-market brand using ‘Confidence’ as a proxy for clinical efficacy. While it avoids the most egregious ‘science-washing’ by citing 2023 awards and basic consumer surveys, it relies heavily on generic industry clichés that mask a lack of technical transparency. It is a ‘Moderate BS’ site: safe but entirely unoriginal.

1. Replace generic ‘South Africa’s Favourite*’ claims with a direct link to the specific market research or sales data that supports it. 2. Provide full INCI ingredient lists for every product mentioned in the ranges to move from ‘marketing’ to ‘substance.’ 3. Identify at least one lead formulator or consulting dermatologist by name and link them via Person schema to establish actual authority. 4. Implement a verified third-party review system to replace the current static review counts.

The website perfectly aligns with the Beauty, Cosmetics & Personal Care industry, focusing on mass-market topical skin solutions. The content emphasizes moisturizing, repairing, and ‘glowing’ skin, which are standard vertical-specific signals.

“The score of 46 is driven primarily by the high Commodity Fingerprint (11/15) and Information Density issues (13/30). The site loses points for faceless authority and low specificity, but is saved from a higher score by maintaining consistent messaging and providing some specific, dated achievements like the 2023 Beauty Awards.”
