We collect clothes, shoes, books, toys, and household items directly from your doorstep — no trips to a charity shop, no textile banks, no charge. Choose your charity, pack your bags, and leave them outside. We do the rest.

Our free charity collection service runs weekly across 22+ postcode areas in the UK. Every item we collect is reused or recycled, and the proceeds go directly to your chosen charity partner. Collections run between 8am and 5pm — you don't need to be home.

We’ve compiled a series of frequently asked questions, if you still have further questions please feel free to get in touch.What can I donate?We can accept good condition: adults, children’s and baby clothes, shoes, handbags, bras, hats, belts, curtains, towels and bed linen (but no duvets or pillows please, sorry). We also accept bric-a-brac; such as antiques, clocks, kitchenware, musical instruments,  ornaments, pictures, books, sports equipment, tools, toys, soft toys, and utensils.When are you next collecting in my area?We typically visit areas every 1-2 weeks, although this can vary. If you would like to know about the next collection in your area, visit our Book A Collection page.What happens to my donations?After collecting your donation, we transport it to one of our warehouses where it is weighed. This process enables us to determine how much money will be donated to the charity that you have chosen to support.These donations are then transported via trucks to the least economically developed countries in Eastern Europe, Africa, South-East Asia, and the Middle East. Once they arrive, the donated items are sold at affordable prices to benefit the local communities.What percentage of profits go to the charity?After our costs have been covered, we allocate a contracted percentage of profits to each of our partner charities, ranging from 75% to 95%.How do I cancel my collection?If you need to cancel your collection or have made a mistake, please don't hesitate to contact us at 01609 780 452 or info@bag2charity.co.ukWhat can't I donate?No bad quality, wet, damp, or dirty clothing • Clothing with animal hair or bad odours • Damaged or heavily worn clothing • Traditional clothing • Workwear and corporate clothing • Personalised and event clothing • Socks, underwear, dressing gowns, or pyjamas (except new) • School or work uniforms • Duvets, pillows, cushions, heavy curtains, blankets, throws, and sleeping bags• Furniture and items larger than a microwave.• CDs and DVDs.Do I have to be home on the collection date?No, absolutely not! Just leave your bags outside by 8am on the collection day.Please ensure your items are kept dry, we cannot accept wet items.Which charities do you collect for?In the UK, we take pride in supporting numerous national and regional charities that are dedicated to various worthwhile causes. Among the charities we partner with are Human Appeal, Fighting Ependymoma, Children's Air Ambulance, Your Local Air Ambulance, Funzi Bodo, Kidney Research Yorkshire, Wendy's Wish, Ragdolls UK and Special Needs Objective Outreach Project.My bag wasn’t collected, what can I do?Kindly contact us, and we will promptly dispatch our drivers to collect your donation. The Funzi and Bodo Trust works in two isolated mud hut villages in Kenya called Funzi and Bodo. Places where people had been living without the basics of life including clean water and toilets until the Trust came along. The charity helps provide education and training, cares for sick and disabled people and helps families beat poverty by helping them to start small businesses with interest free loans and guidance. [H2] National Children's Air Ambulance
The National Children’s Air Ambulance is a national service which is operated by The Air Ambulance service, they rely entirely on donations - each mission costs £3,600. They are changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care of critically ill babies and children and flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care. The helicopter is specially designed to fly and provide intensive care for babies and children. Your Local Air Ambulance does not receive funding from the government or National Lottery for its daily missions and relies entirely on voluntary donations and support from our communities and business. Wendy's Wish is a family run charity that started in memory of Wendy Reed, who died from eye cancer on 6th January 2017. [H2] Fighting Ependymoma
Fighting Ependymoma was set up in memory of Chris Bramhall who sadly died of ependymoma brain and spinal tumours at age 21 after a 13 year battle with the disease. Ependymoma is the second most common brain tumour in children with half of those diagnosed relapsing within 5 years. Children face many gruelling treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy in a bid to beat the disease which sadly half will not survive. Our mission is to help as many girls with Turner’s Syndrome as possible by linking them to the support they need. Being diagnosed with Turner’s Syndrome can be a terrifying experience. Our support groups aim to be a place of comfort and discussion away from the doctor’s waiting room where TS girls and their families can learn to come to terms with the condition, the health checks required and the social aspects of what lies ahead.
