The original was old, rotting, and the double-glazing seal had broken so that there was a lot of condensation between the panes; it was also not a very big window. We wanted to replace it with the same (but of course in good condition!), but it was almost impossible to find someone who was willing to come out to us (we're in East Lothian) for just the one window, especially one that had to have a wood frame (we're in a conservation area with strict rules). Eco Sash and Case were not only prepared to come and assess the job, quote fairly, and check to make sure that we were happy with all the details before proceeding, but were unfailingly friendly and approachable. They did the job when they said they would (in fact, they were able to get the painting done earlier than they thought, which was much appreciated), and the team were capable, quick and efficient. They took care not to make a mess and they left the room clean and thoroughly hoovered to remove any sawdust; the painter also took care to repaint our sill in our own paint, after doing the frame in the requested white. As the room is our bedroom (and not an easy room to navigate, with beams etc.), we are incredibly happy to have had this all completed before the winter really sets in. It was not cheap, but it was a fair price for all the work involved in producing and fitting a custom-made, very nice-looking window.Helen Bleck5 [IMG: Review from ett] Unlike other companies, ES&C advised that we could retain the current frame and fit double glazing glass at a very reasonable price and without the need to put scaffolding to the 3rd floor. Other quotations we got at the time were three times the price we paid with Eco Sash. The team was on time and the quality of the work excellent! Joiners did a brilliant job, left the house the same way as before they started, and the painters we also excellent! We have noticed a massive difference in terms of heat retention, reduced use of heating and of course on the window condensation. Overall excellent service from Lindsay and the whole team, would highly recommend them.Dora5 [IMG: Review from ett] Full package including arranging for listed building consent, the joinery and painting. Very happy with the look of my new windows and the workmanship. The work all went smoothly and both the joinery and painting teams were very neat and tidy as well as efficient/professional and very pleasant to deal with. Communication with the Office was good and proposed dates were met. Very satisfied customer.Catherine Chalmers5 [IMG: Review from trustpilot] Very happy with my new windows and the workmanship. The work all went smoothly and both the joinery and painting teams were very neat and tidy as well as efficient/professional and very pleasant to deal with. Listed building consent was part of the package and my early Victorian main door flat now has new double-glazed & astragalled windows which look excellent. Communication with the Office was good and proposed dates were met. Very satisfied customer.Catherine4 [IMG: Review from ett] We had sash windows draughtproofed, plus new mastic and painting inside and out. The lead time was quite long, especially waiting for the mastic & painting. The result is excellent. Communication was easy, with all email enquiries dealt with promptly.Eileen Holttum4 [IMG: Review from trustpilot] The company offered a competitive price for upgrading my single glazed sash and case bedroom windows to acoustic glazing. Unlike competitors, Eco advised that we could retain the current frame and fit acoustic glass - other companies suggested I would need to get a completely new frame, which was more expensive. Communication from the admin team was good throughout, although there was a delay of a few weeks over the course of the project due to other works overrunning, which was a bit disappointing. The installation team was great, arriving on time and efficient. I had to ask the painting team to come back to fix a couple of snagging issues which, to be fair to them, they did the very next day. The glass perhaps doesn’t block out quite as much noise as I’d have liked, but I think that’s mainly due to the materials/design of sash and case - the windows do look great, though. Overall I’m pretty happy with the service I received.Craig Hunter View all reviews

You can often restore sash and case windows if you notice rattling panes, sticking sashes, flaking paint, or minor wood rot. When windows remain largely in good condition, our restoration service can resolve these issues effectively. In some cases, replacement offers the best long-term solution. We usually recommend full replacement when severe timber decay compromises the window’s structural integrity. Likewise, if previous repairs have reached their limit, replacing the window may provide a more reliable and cost-effective outcome. This is because the existing single-glazed sash typically doesn’t have enough depth to accommodate a double-glazed unit. However, we will keep the original window casing. [H4] Will upgrading to double-glazed sash windows improve energy efficiency? Yes, double glazing will significantly reduce heat loss, helping to lower energy bills and maintain a more consistent indoor temperature, especially in older properties. [H4] Do I need planning permission to install double-glazed sash windows? In most cases planning permission is not required however, if your home is listed or located in a conservation area, you may need approval. It’s always best to check with your local planning authority before proceeding. [H4] How long does the upgrade process take? The installation of your new double-glazed sash’s typically require one day for each window. However, this will be dependent on the work required on the refurbishment of the casement. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 354 businesses audited.
Construction, Contractors & Building Services BS: Eco Sash & Case (www.ecosashandcase.co.uk)
Eco Sash & Case is a masterclass in low-BS contractor marketing. It substitutes vague ‘quality’ claims with forensic technical specifications and localized evidence, making it a highly trustworthy digital presence.
Implement Person schema for the family owners or lead joiners to formalize the ‘family-run’ claim. Link the mentioned case studies like Makars Mash Bar to a dedicated portfolio page with high-resolution imagery and project dates. Explicitly name the team members behind the 100 years combined experience claim to move it from a generic cliché to a verifiable authority point.
The content perfectly aligns with the Construction and Building Services category, specifically addressing the niche heritage market of timber sash and case windows in Scotland. Every page focuses on manufacturing, repair, and regulatory compliance for historic buildings, confirming a high degree of industry specialization.
“The score of 20 is driven by exceptional information density and a lack of semantic drift. The only significant BS contributors are standard industry cliches and a moderate level of concept repetition regarding the tree-planting initiative across multiple service pages.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Eco Sash & Case, captured on May 21, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Eco Sash & Case: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
To all users: You are encouraged to visit the live site at https://www.ecosashandcase.co.uk to view the most current version of its content and learn from the source what this company is about and what it offers.
