Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Ecommerce & Online Retail
Generic Claims: best prices online, free shipping on everything, satisfaction guaranteed or your money back, trusted by thousands…
Red Flags: no business address or company registration, manufacturer stock photos as product images, prices dramatically below market with no explanation, no return policy or extremely restrictive terms…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims premium but product pages show dropshipped goods, claims handmade or artisan but product images are manufacturer stock, homepage says ethically sourced but no supply chain information, claims exclusive products but same items found on Amazon and AliExpress…
Proof Expectations: verifiable business registration and address, real product photographs not manufacturer stock images, third-party reviews on independent platforms (Trustpilot, Google), clear return and refund policy with process details…

Wolf Tooth
Direct Mount Chainrings for SRAM 8-Bolt Gravel / Road Cranks
$84.95 - $94.99
Direct mount chainrings for SRAM cranks with 8-bolt mounting replace your existing spider and chainring with one clean looking, lightweight, and stiff piece of machined billet.
Compatibility:
- These direct mount chainrings will replace your existing chainring and spider or replace the direct mount chainring for SRAM AXS cranksets and other cranks that use the 8-bolt mounting. Most SRAM cranksets have traditionally used a 3-bolt mounting, but the 8-bolt mounting has always been used on the Quarq power meter cranks. Now some non-power meter cranks like SRAM AXS use the 8-bolt mounting.
- All SRAM Direct Mount DUB road cranksets use the 8-bolt mounting standard. These cranksets use either 107 BCD or 94 BCD; any of those cranksets with a removable spider use the 8-bolt mount.
- Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth profile for the ultimate chain retention and mud-shedding ability
- 6mm offset
- Chainline 45mm
- Use Drop-Stop B for all SRAM Eagle, SRAM Road and Transmission (T-Type) Flattop chains, 9, 10, and 11spd chains or 12spd KMC, Connex, Wippermann, Campagnolo.
DROP-STOP B
- Compatible 9, 10, 11, and 12spd SRAM Eagle, 12spd SRAM Transmission (T-type) Flattop, 12spd Campy, 12spd KMC
- Not compatible with 12spd Shimano HG+ chains
Recommendations -
- Recommend the use of a clutch-style rear derailleur for the best chain security
- Use the included custom T20 bolts. Torque 4Nm with T20 tool
Tech Specs:
- Weights: 38T/89g | 40T/106g | 42T/109g | 44T/111g
- Material: 7075-T6 aluminum
- Included: set of eight custom T20 stainless steel bolts
- Made in the USA
[IMG: Wolf Tooth ShiftMount MM Shifter to I-Spec EV Brake]
Wolf Tooth
ShiftMount MM Shifter to I-Spec EV Brake
$29.99
ShiftMounts are adapter mounts that allow you to integrate SRAM and Shimano shifters with several different brakes from Shimano, SRAM, and Magura, or mount shifters directly to handlebars independent of brakes. Handlebar space is prime real estate and the ShiftMount seamlessly integrates brakes and shifters for a clean look.
- MM-ISEV is for a SRAM MatchMaker shifter mounting to a Shimano I-SPEC EV brake
- Designed to work with rear (right side) brakes and shifters.
- Consult the brake and shifter manufacturers to understand which mounting interface you have on your brakes and shifters.
- MM-ISEV is compatible with M9100, M9120, M8100, and M7100 Brakes. Deore M6100 or M4100 brakes will mount but the positioning is not optimal so we would consider them not compatible.
- MM-ISEV, MM-ISII, & MM-MAG: while they will technically mount to a Sram AXS shifter pod, we do not recommend it. With SRAM AXS, the shift lever will be further towards the end of the bar, or closer to the rider's hand than is ideal for most riders.
- Shimano I-SPEC A, Hope, and TRP brakes are not supported.
- Shimano I-SPEC EV to Magura brakes is not supported because of geometric challenges.
- ISII- 22 Clamp is compatible with Shimano XT M8000 and XTR M9000 shifters.
- NOT compatible with Shimano SLX M7000, Deore M6000.
- For handlebar clamp ShiftMounts tighten clamp bolt to 1-2 Nm max torque.

- Designed to work with rear (right side) brakes and shifters
- Consult the brake and shifter manufacturers to understand which mounting interface you have on your brakes and shifters
- For handlebar clamp ShiftMounts tighten clamp bolt to 1-2 Nm max torque
- 6061-T6 aluminum
- MM-ISII is for a SRAM MatchMaker shifter mounting to a Shimano I-SPEC II brake
- MM-ISII is compatible with M9020, M9000, M8000, M7000, and M6000 brake levers
- MM-ISII is compatible with, but not designed for SRAM AXS because the shift lever will be further towards the end of the bar, or closer to the rider's hand than is ideal for most riders

Wolf Tooth Disc Brake Adapter - Post to Flat Mount, +20mm
$29.95
The Wolf Tooth Post To Flat Mount Brake Adapter allows flat mount brakes to be added to a frame or fork that was designed for post mount brakes. This is a vital component for cyclists who want to run a road groupset on a mountain bike frame.
- Please note that this is a +20mm adapter, which means a 140mm post mount native size will only work with a 160mm rotor, just as a 160mm post mount native size will only work with a 180mm rotor, and so on
- Fits on post mount native sizes 140, 160, and 180mm
- Works with rotor sizes 160, 180, and 200mm
- Tested with SRAM and Shimano brakes
- Requires minimum 13mm between top of brake boss to frame/fork
- CNC Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum for strength and light weight
- Includes : (2x) M5x13mm Flat Head bolts for Flat Mount Caliper and (2x) M6x15mm Socket Head bolts for Post Mount

Wolf Tooth ReMote Light Action Dropper Lever with included Clamp
$69.95
Wolf Tooth ReMote Light Action has a longer lever arm than the standard ReMote and is optimal for dropper posts with a harder pull or for riders that just prefer a really light actuation feel. It reduces the force to actuate a dropper by nearly a third of the standard ReMote. Based on rider feedback and tailored to work with some posts' stiffer internal springs, the ReMote Light Action is also the choice of those with thumb injuries or reduced hand strength.

- Large diameter ball bearing
- Cable-kind clamp
- Low-profile, light action
- Integrated cable adjust

Machined aluminum cups thread together directly into a T47 BB shell. Bearings are easily serviced or replaced. Includes sleeve to fit between cups for added protection from dirt and grime, and also keeps your internal wires and hoses from rubbing on the crank spindle. Use a quality grease when installing in steel or aluminum BB shells, or a titanium-compatible anti-seize compound in titanium BB shells. - Bearings: Enduro Angular Contact (non-drive-side bearing: ABEC-3) - Bottom Bracket/Frame Interface: T47 - Bottom Bracket Shell Width: 68mm – 132mm - Bottom Bracket Shell I.D.: 47x1.0mm Threaded - Over Bearing Width: 91.7mm in 86.5mm wide shell (dimensions include supplied silicone dust shields) - Tool Pattern: 48.5mm x 16-notch

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Ecommerce & Online Retail BS: Scott's Cycle & Fitness (scottscycle.com)

https://scottscycle.com 📍 Industry: Ecommerce & Online Retail
16 BS / 100

Scott’s Cycle & Fitness is a rare example of a ‘Zero-BS’ retailer that prioritizes utility over marketing. The site functions as a legitimate tool for cyclists, providing exhaustive technical details and real local availability data. Its only weaknesses are purely technical SEO omissions, such as missing schema and heading structures.

1. Fix the missing H1 on the homepage to explicitly state ‘Scott’s Cycle & Fitness – Bike Shop in Salem, OR.’ 2. Implement LocalBusiness and Organization schema with a ‘foundingDate’ of 1914 and geo-coordinates for the Salem location. 3. Create an ‘Our Team’ section naming head mechanics and their certifications to turn implicit expertise into explicit authority. 4. Add ‘sameAs’ links in structured data to the shop’s social profiles or business registrations to complete the digital footprint.

The site perfectly matches the Ecommerce & Online Retail category, specifically operating as a specialized local bicycle retailer. The presence of a detailed Bicycling Catalog with granular component specifications (e.g., T47 bottom bracket widths, OCLV carbon frame series) confirms it is a legitimate technical retail entity.

“The score of 16 is driven primarily by technical identity gaps (missing schema and H1) and the use of a commodity retail template. The site received near-zero penalties for Information Density and Semantic Coherence because it is entirely focused on technical substance. The absence of bold, unsubstantiated marketing claims keeps the score in the 'Minimal BS' range.”
