Parents who receive tax-free childcare cannot claim childcare tax credit or universal credit. Tax-free childcare is available to the following: Families with children aged 0–11 (or 0–16 if disabled) Working families in the UK Those who are not receiving childcare vouchers, universal credit or tax credits Those earning at least the National Minimum or Living Wage equal to 16 hours a week, or under £100,000 P/A Visit the government’s Best Start in Life website to find out more and to open your account. [H3] How does tax-free childcare work? You set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8.00 you pay into this account, the government will pay in an extra £2.00, effectively giving you 20% additional funds — or the basic rate of tax back on what you spend through your online childcare account. You can then use the money to pay for your childcare costs. You will need to reconfirm your eligibility for tax-free childcare every three months. You will receive a reminder via text message and it’s easy to do through your online childcare account. 🔗 Identity & Technical Layer — schema JSON-LD: identity chains, entity gaps (Identity & Authority)
Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Education, Schools & Universities BS: Millfield Nursery (www.millfieldnurseryschool.co.uk)
Millfield Nursery is a high-substance business hiding behind a low-tech digital presence. Its BS score is driven by missing technical authority (schema) and a ‘Trust Theatre’ reliance on unlinked testimonials rather than fraudulent claims. It successfully avoids the ‘generic school’ trap through hyper-specific sensory details about its physical grounds.
Immediate reduction of the BS score can be achieved by deploying Organization and School JSON-LD schema to bridge the authority gap. Replace the ‘Testimonials’ section’s static text with a verified widget from a third-party review site or provide direct links to the Google Maps review profile. Convert the Ofsted quote into a functional link to the official report on the government portal to eliminate Trust Theatre flags. Finally, name the senior leadership team and the ‘motivational sports leader’ to provide a verifiable human footprint for the claimed expertise.
The site content aligns perfectly with the Education/Nursery School category. It provides detailed pedagogical information across age-specific rooms and emphasizes outdoor learning environments consistent with early years foundation stage (EYFS) standards.
“The score of 38 reflects a 'Low BS' profile. The points were primarily accumulated in 'Identity and Authority' (10/15) due to the complete lack of schema and 'Trust and Proof' (11/20) due to unverified reviews. The site scored exceptionally well in Semantic Coherence, showing almost zero drift between its marketing promises and its described service reality.”
