With their guidance and encouragement, I grew in skill and confidence. NSU challenged me in the best ways, and I’m deeply grateful for the mentorship that helped me get here.
H4 "This communications department, has your best interests at heart. They want to see you win, outside of the degree and outside of the classroom."
H4 "Ever since I have gotten here I have loved it. NSU is a great place to make home, make your family."
H4 “Coming to NSU was the best decision I've made.
From day one, I felt like part of a community that genuinely cares about my success. I've made lifelong friends, explored new interests, and had incredible support from professors who actually know my
name. NSU has given me so much more than an education — it's given me a second home.”
H4 "You just don't know what is on the other side – you just don't know what is waiting for you at NSU."
H4 Earning both my bachelor’s and master’s at NSU was the best decision I could’ve made. I always felt supported, challenged, and encouraged to step outside my comfort zone. My professors truly cared about my success and pushed me to reach my potential, while the campus community gave me opportunities to lead, connect, and grow. I walked away with two degrees, real experience, and the confidence to succeed in my career.

H3 About
H4 "Northwestern has helped me grow into the person I am today. I’ve had the chance to be captain of the Demon Dazzlers, join honor societies, and even become Miss Louisiana. I’ve met my best friends here, made so many great memories, and found a support system I can always count on."
H4 "What I love most about NSU is that you’re not just a number. Even with a big campus, you still get personal time with your advisor. People here really care and want to see you do well."
H4 “Coming to NSU was the best decision I've made.
From day one, I felt like part of a community that genuinely cares about my success. I've made lifelong friends, explored new interests, and had incredible support from professors who actually know my
name. NSU has given me so much more than an education—it's given me a second home.”
H4 "When I first came to Northwestern, I thought I’d keep to myself and not get involved in much. But once I got here, that changed fast. I found myself wanting to join in and be part of everything. Looking back, I’ve really grown. I’m more confident now, and I’ve found a place where I truly feel like I belong."
H4 "NSU has given me so many chances to grow. I got to take on leadership roles and learn through real experience in the classroom. The people here really support you, and that’s helped me feel ready for what comes after graduation."
H4 "NSU might be a smaller school, but that’s one of the best things about it. You really get to know your professors, and they get to know you. The Natchitoches community is amazing too. It really feels like home."
H4 "If you’re an international student, I’d say come to Louisiana. There’s a lot of culture here, and the food is really good. You’ll feel right at home and there are people like me who are ready to help you every step of the way."

[H4] "Northwestern has helped me grow into the person I am today. I’ve had the chance to be captain of the Demon Dazzlers, join honor societies, and even become Miss Louisiana. I’ve met my best friends here, made so many great memories, and found a support system I can always count on."

[H4] “Coming to NSU was the best decision I've made.
From day one, I felt like part of a community that genuinely cares about my success. I've made lifelong friends, explored new interests, and had incredible support from professors who actually know my
name. NSU has given me so much more than an education—it's given me a second home.”

[H4] "When I first came to Northwestern, I thought I’d keep to myself and not get involved in much. But once I got here, that changed fast. I found myself wanting to join in and be part of everything. Looking back, I’ve really grown. I’m more confident now, and I’ve found a place where I truly feel like I belong."

First Time Freshman Admission Criteria

Non-Traditional Freshmen Admission Criteria

Transfer Admission Criteria

Readmission Criteria

Semester Visitor/Non-Degree Seeking Criteria

Dual Enrollment/High School Criteria

International Admission Criteria

Official test scores are used to determine developmental need. Official ACT/SAT/Compass/Accuplacer scores must come directly to the Office of Admissions from the testing agency or ACT/College Board.

ACT/SAT/Compass/Accuplacer Placement

An application fee is required for all applicants ($20 US Citizens, $30 International). Application fees will be assessed to all undergraduate student accounts after enrollment in classes who have not paid the fee and do not have an application fee waiver on file. Application fee waivers must be submitted to NSU directly by your high school or authorized official.

Application Fee Waiver

Official transcripts are required from all former institutions attended, regardless of whether or not the credits transfer. All transcripts must be on file and evaluated before an admission decision can be made. Official transcripts must be delivered to the Office of Admissions in a sealed unopened envelope from each former institution to be considered official.

We realize final high school transcripts are not yet available for current high school seniors. If you are currently a high school senior attending an out of state high school, please be sure to request your high school mail an official final transcript to NSU after you graduate. If you are a current Louisiana high school student or graduated from a Louisiana state approved high school in the past 3 years, we will download your transcript from the state transcript system.

If you graduated from a Louisiana state approved high school 4 years ago or longer, you will need to request your official transcript from your high school to be mailed or faxed to the Office of Admissions. If you earned a GED or HiSET, we will need the official test scores from the institution that awarded the diploma.

Official transcripts and test scores are those that are delivered to the Office of Admissions in an unopened school envelop from the high school or testing agency or faxed/emailed directly to the Office of Admissions from the high school or testing agency.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

https://nsula.edu 📍 Industry: Education, Schools & Universities
32 BS / 100

Northwestern State University of Louisiana presents a structurally sound, highly functional educational platform marred by catastrophic ‘placeholder BS.’ The site signals high authority through its physical campus details and named staff, but the failure to populate its ‘Top Public School’ rankings and ‘Economic Impact’ stats turns its primary value propositions into empty shells. It is a real institution currently being betrayed by its own content management system.

Immediately audit and populate all H2 data placeholders currently displaying ‘#0’ or ‘$0M’ with verified 2025/2026 data. Link the U.S. News & World Report ranking claim directly to the source report to convert a generic claim into a verified proof path. Implement Person schema for the named admissions recruiters and featured faculty to bridge the authority gap. Replace generic value proposition cliches in the major descriptions with specific 3-year employment rates for those specific departments.

The website perfectly aligns with the Education and University category. It provides comprehensive information regarding degree programs, admissions criteria, and campus locations, supporting the primary function of a public higher education institution.

“The score of 32 reflects a site that is high in substance regarding its actual offerings (Majors, Campus locations, named staff) but is penalized for broken data placeholders and a heavy reliance on industry cliches. The Identity and Authority pillar suffered due to technical gaps in displaying ranking data. Semantic coherence remained strong as the site does not 'bait and switch' the user, despite the technical errors.”
