What skip sizes do you do?Our skips are available in the following sizes:
Mini (2 cubic yards) is 1600mm x 1300mm x 900mm and holds around 20-30 bin bags.
Midi (4 cubic yards) is 2200mm x 1400mm x 950mm and holds around 35-45 bin bags.
Maxi (8 cubic yard) is 3400mm x 1700mm x 1250mm and holds around 70-80 bin bags.
We offer a limited number of Enclosed skips.  These are 3400mm x 1700mm x 1250mm and hold around 100 bin bags.
We also provide Roll on Roll off’s (also known as RoRo’s) in two sizes. Our 20 yard is 5400mm x 2360mm x 1470mm and our 30 yard is 5400mm x 2360mm x 2310mm.
Skip dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly but they all have the same capacity.

How full can I fill my skip?

An overfilled skip can be dangerous to transport so we do not recommend you fill your skip above the skip walls. The majority of our skips will have a fill line marked out on the sides. If a skip is filled above this height we may not be able to collect the skip so if you have any queries about this before or during your skip hire please get in touch.
Where can skips be dropped off?Skips can be dropped on a private property such as driveways, on the road or verge outside a house. Skips can also be dropped at business offices or factories. If a skip needs to be placed on a public road or verge a permit is needed which we can arrange for you. Prices vary depending on your location.
Do I need permission from the council to place a skip on the road or verge?Yes, but we can arrange this for you if you need us to.
How much do permits cost to put a skip on the road or verge?Permit costs depend on your local council rates and the time it will be placed on the public highway or verge.

Local authorities do not offer refunds on permits so please ensure the dates stated are correct and for the correct amount of time.
Is there anything I cannot put into a skip?Yes, in accordance with current legislation vapes / electronic cigarettes, asbestos, fire extinguishers, compressed containers, paint tins, chemicals, batteries, oils, medical waste and gas cylinders are not to be placed within a skip.
Tyres, mattresses, fridges & fridge freezers can be accepted if pre-booked online or via the office at an additional cost. Carpets and astroturf (including artificial grass) will only be accepted in small amounts if you need to dispose of large amounts please get in touch. Plasterboard is accepted but it must be segregated and placed in a strong bag, placed on top of the skip. If plasterboard is mixed in with other waste, we are not permitted to collect the skip.
If any of the mentioned materials is found in one of our skips, the skip will be returned to the address in question and possible fines may be incurred. If you require assistance removing any of these wastes, please contact the office.

Can I put plasterboard in my skip?Plasterboard is accepted in small volumes but it must be segregated and bagged. The bagged plasterboard should be left on top of the skip as part of the skip contents and must not overfill the skip.
If the plasterboard is mixed in with other waste, we are not permitted to collect the skip. If you have not specified that you will be disposing of plasterboard when ordering let us know ASAP and we can include a bag with your skip.
If plasterboard is not segregated and bagged an additional £100 sorting fee will be chargeable.
What do I do if I fill my skip and need another one?You can reorder another skip online or by calling the team.  You will need to arrange collection of  your full skip first. Visit the Collect my skip page for more information.
How much notice do I need to give?Our online ordering facility will give you date options to choose from.  A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is usually required for deliveries, collections and exchanges. However, if you call us before 9.00am we can often offer a same day service for local areas and will do our best to help you if you are on a tight schedule.
How long can I keep my skip for?Our standard hire length is currently 7 days, as soon as you have done with your skip please get in touch and we will organise to collect your skip as soon as possible. You can specify a longer hire length when ordering at extra cost or you can contact the office on 01484 435244 to organise after the skip has been ordered.
How do I order aggregate with my skip?Select the option of which aggregate you require when you order your skip. Please note this is only available with Midi and Maxi skips.

[H3] Waste Bags
What size waste bags do you do?We do one size waste bag which is 680mm x 780mm x 900mm and holds up to one tonne in weight.
What can I put in my general waste bag?You can use your waste bag for ordinary household, garden, DIY and builders’ waste. Please don’t use it to dispose of hazardous wastes like plasterboard, asbestos, batteries, electrical goods, liquids or chemicals in this bag.
We do accept small quantities of plasterboard which must be kept clean and segregated from the other waste within the bag.
What can I put in my inerts waste bag?The inert waste bag is for soil, stones, bricks, concrete, tiles, ceramics and glass.
Where should I place my waste bag?You should position your waste bag before you start to fill it, ensuring it is in a location that can be easily reached by our vehicle.
Make sure the road is at least 4m wide and the bag is within 3m of the road so we can collect it. The collection area needs to be accessible and clear of obstacles such as overhead trees, cables and parked cars. Our driver will need to reach the bag handles to hook the crane on, so make sure the bag is not behind locked gates and the handles are left out. Should you have any questions, please give us a call.
Can I place the waste bag on the road or pavement?No. The local council doesn’t allow waste bags to be placed on the public highway, and therefore must be kept on private land.
What areas do you cover?See areas we cover for details or alternatively please call the office.
Do I get the waste bag back?No. These bags are a single trip waste bag which will be recycled with the rest of your waste.
How does a waste bag compare to a small skip?Waste bags are great for smaller quantities of waste, when you have limited space on your property, and are also better for longer length jobs, so you don’t have a full size skip on your driveway for months.
How long can I keep my waste bag for?Our bag and collection service is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase. If you wish to arrange a collection after this time you may incur a surcharge.
When will I receive my waste bag?You can either collect it from the Myers Skip Hire Office, at a time to suit you, or alternatively we will deliver it within 7 days from order. Visit the contact us page for address details.

This is our smallest skip and ideal for taking household waste that you don’t want to dirty your car with or is too much to fit in your bins.
It has a capacity of 2 cubic yards which roughly equates to 20 – 30 bin bags or 8 – 10 wheelbarrow loads.
If your skip is to be placed on a road or verge you will need a road permit. The price will be added to your order and we will arrange this for you.

If the plasterboard is mixed in with other waste, we are not permitted to collect the skip. If you have not specified that you will be disposing of plasterboard when ordering let us know ASAP and we can include a bag with your skip.
If plasterboard is not segregated and bagged an additional £100 sorting fee will be chargeable.
What do I do if I fill my skip and need another one?You can reorder another skip online or by calling the team.  You will need to arrange collection of  your full skip first. Visit the Collect my skip page for more information.
How much notice do I need to give?Our online ordering facility will give you date options to choose from.  A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is usually required for deliveries, collections and exchanges. However, if you call us before 9.00am we can often offer a same day service for local areas and will do our best to help you if you are on a tight schedule.
How long can I keep my skip for?Our standard hire length is currently 7 days, as soon as you have done with your skip please get in touch and we will organise to collect your skip as soon as possible. You can specify a longer hire length when ordering at extra cost or you can contact the office on 01484 435244 to organise after the skip has been ordered.
How do I order aggregate with my skip?Select the option of which aggregate you require when you order your skip. Please note this is only available with Midi and Maxi skips.
