I’ve been in financial services for more than 20 years and a regulated independent financial planner since 2008.
I work with clients who are accumulating funds and those at, or near retirement, and needing income from various sources, including pensions. I also have a wealth of experience in dealing with self-invested pensions.
Cashflow planning also forms a large part of what I do for my clients. I believe well-rounded advice is vital, looking at their financial situation as a whole rather than restricting my work to a particular product or area.

Personally

When I’m not at work, I enjoy working or relaxing in the garden in the good weather and planning our holidays and trips away on the rainy days!
I love attending ‘live’ anything – music, theatre, comedy, sporting events,  and it’s my plan that as a family we keep doing it more and more. A ticket to something rather than ‘stuff’ is always on my wish list.
…and I haven’t missed an episode of ‘The Archers’ on Radio 4 for over 25 years.

My most memorable client case was:
A syndicated SIPP property purchase with six members, including borrowing, pension transfers and new contributions in order to buy a golfing range/restaurant/bar/pro shop complex – which was complicated but fun!

Professionally

After graduating with an Economics degree, I went straight into financial services in 1991 and starting advising clients in 1994.
Although I provide general financial planning services, I work extensively in the retirement market. I often help clients as they build their pension funds and then provide a structured plan as they head into the decumulation phase.
The advice I give is always holistic where I have looked at the bigger picture. We use cash flow modelling and look at lots of ‘what-if scenarios.’

Personally

Outside of work, I enjoy activities that create space, focus and balance. I play the piano and I’m Vice Chair of the Keyworth Camera Club, shooting with Fuji and Leica cameras. I completed a part-time MA in Photography at the University of Lincoln, graduating in September 2025, and I enjoy travel, live music and going to gigs.
I love the outdoors — particularly walking and open water swimming — and indoors I enjoy breathwork, reading, and processing images in Photoshop and Lightroom. I also set up a book club over 15 years ago, which is still going strong.
I have two adult sons — a qualified electrician and a student — and enjoy spending time with them both. These interests reflect my belief in balance, perspective and intentional living — values I also bring to my work with clients.
