We will provide an exclusive experience that’s un-hurried; we wish to provide the most accurate and detailed assessment of your eye health and vision possible irrespective of time taken.

We treat our patients as individuals and tailor the range of service and clinical care that we offer to suit you.

We recommend the advanced version of our eye examination for all our patients a longer appointment allowing us to fully utilize the benefits of the very latest instrument technology we have, to detect much earlier potential sight threatening conditions than would otherwise possible.

Our highly skilled Optometrists genuinely care about what they do.Our eye examinations
[H3] Advanced Examination
Allow approximately 45 minutes for this our most comprehensive examination that includes Optomap and OCT allowing the widest and deepest eye health assessment currently possible. This examination with our fully qualified Optometrist costs £70.
​
Those entitled to NHS funding can upgrade at a cost of £45.
[H3] Enhanced Examination
We would recommend an eye examination that includes Optomap wide view retinal health assessment to all our patients. Allow approximately 40 minutes for this appointment. This is an enhanced eye examination with our fully qualified optometrist costing £55.​
​
Those entitled to NHS funding can upgrade at a cost of £35 for this examination.
[H3] NHS Examination

We have a sustained on-going programme to invest in the very latest technology and our history has shown we have very often been the first to adopt technology such as OCT advanced optical imaging as long ago as 2012.

eye scanningAt Eyesentials we have always invested in the very latest technology to help us identify sight threatening conditions as early as possible.

In 2004 we got our first retinal camera allowing us to view photographs of the retina in great detail. Optical technology continues to move forward and in 2011 we got our retinal scanner (OCT) before any other optician in Leyland.

What happens during an OCT scan?An OCT - Ocular Coherence Tomography - is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages. It enables us to look inside the retina and allows us to identify sight threatening changes even  earlier than with a retinal photograph alone.

An OCT scanner uses waves of light to take images of your retina, providing an image of the layers that make up your retina. Our optometrist can measure the thickness of these layers and note any gradual changes over time that may indicate early signs of eye conditions.

An OCT scan can detect eye conditions like:

glaucoma
age-related macular degeneration
diabetic retinopathy
disorders of the optic nerve.

Even if your eyes appear healthy, we can use an OCT scan to take a baseline image, making it much easier to diagnose, treat and manage these potentially sight-threatening conditions.
