Blue and green circles border them] [H1] About bladder cancer [H2] What is bladder cancer (urothelial cancer)? In bladder cancer (urothelial cancer), cells grow abnormally in the urinary bladder to form a tumor. Most bladder cancers start in the inner lining of the bladder, which is called the urothelium. If the tumor has spread nearby to bladder walls or lymph nodes, it's considered locally advanced. If it continued to spread outside of the bladder to other parts of the body, it's considered metastatic.Learn about the role of FGFR in bladder cancer.WHAT IS FGFR?Learn about the FGFR gene and what it means to have a tumor with an abnormal FGFR geneAbout FGFR

[H1] How BALVERSA® Works About BALVERSA®How BALVERSA® Works [H2] How does BALVERSA® work? BALVERSA® is a drug that is called a kinase inhibitor. A kinase inhibitor is a substance that blocks a type of enzyme (a protein) called a kinase. Human cells have many different kinases, and they help control important functions.BALVERSA® works by stopping the activity of FGFR, which is present in the bladder cancer tumor cell as well as healthy cells throughout the body. Because BALVERSA® targets the FGFR protein and can affect all cells with this receptor, it may cause serious side effects.BALVERSA® is the first medicine of its kind approved by the FDA to treat people with advanced bladder cancer where the tumor carries a certain abnormal FGFR gene.FDA = U.S. Food and Drug Administration. [H2] Is BALVERSA® right for you? Talk to your doctor about whether BALVERSA® may be right for you. In order for you to receive BALVERSA®, your doctor must first test your cancer for certain types of abnormal FGFR genes. To do this, your doctor will send a tissue sample from your tumor to a lab for analysis. This can be done with tissue from a new biopsy or with tissue that was already removed, so you may not need an additional procedure.HOW WAS BALVERSA® STUDIED?See the results of the clinical study of BALVERSA®See study resultsBALVERSA® SIDE EFFECTSSee what kinds of side effects have been associated with BALVERSA®Learn about possible side effects

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Medical Devices, Pharma & Biotech BS: BALVERSA® (erdafitinib) (balversa.com)
This is a low-BS, highly regulated pharmaceutical site that prioritizes clinical definitions over marketing hyperbole. Its score is driven not by the presence of hot air, but by the technical omission of structured data and the failure to provide direct external proof paths for its valid clinical claims.
Implement MedicalEntity and Drug schema in the JSON-LD to establish technical authority and link to the official FDA approval documents. Replace generic calls to action like See study results with specific, high-level clinical metrics such as Objective Response Rate (ORR) percentages. Provide outbound links to the specific ClinicalTrials.gov record (e.g., NCT02365597) to provide a verifiable proof path for clinical assertions. Fix the heading hierarchy on the taking-balversa sub-page to improve technical SEO and accessibility standards.
The website perfectly aligns with the Pharma & Biotech industry category. The content is strictly focused on a prescription medication, specific genetic biomarkers (FGFR gene), and regulatory status (FDA), which are the defining characteristics of this sector.
“The score of 32 is primarily driven by the Identity and Authority pillar (due to missing schema) and the Trust and Proof pillar (due to zero external proof links). The site is largely free of Semantic Drift and Information Density fluff, which are the most common sources of high BS scores in other industries.”
