Your dog will need a certificate of veterinary inspection (health certificate) completed within 10 days of departure, an ISO-compatible microchip and proof of rabies vaccination which is recommended to be done 21 days before travel.
For cats:
Your cat will need a microchip, and a health certificate from your vet confirming they’re fit to fly. Entry requirements can vary by state so it’s always worth checking ahead.
A few things worth knowing:
Planning well in advance is everything, some documentation has strict timeframes and can’t be rushed. It’s also worth checking the rules of your specific community in Florida, as some homeowner associations have their own pet regulations.
The good news? You don’t have to navigate any of this alone. At Airpets we handle the paperwork, the planning, and the journey.

• Cooling mats - perfect for lounging and cooling down. Most are pressure activated, so there’s no need to freeze or refrigerate them
• Water bowls & travel water bottles - hydration is key, especially on walks and road trips
• Cooling vests & hats - great for helping dogs stay comfortable in the heat
• Sprinklers & paddling pools - a fun way for your dog to play whilst cooling off outdoors
But most importantly, safety always comes first ?
Our biggest advice during a heatwave is to keep dogs indoors where possible, lying on cool floors with a fan nearby, curtains closed and plenty of fresh water available.
Try to walk dogs before sunrise or after sunset, and stick to shaded grassy routes rather than hot pavements.
If your dog gets bored easily indoors, mental enrichment games can be a great way to keep them occupied!

As your UK customs agent we hold badges at each of the above airports, meaning we liaise directly with authorities on your behalf. We keep the customs clearance on track so your pet is released and back with you as fast as possible.

Our animal lounge at Airpets is exclusively for pets to use before or after their flight. Should you need a little extra time to get settled in the UK before reuniting with your pet at home the animal lounge is here to bridge the gap. We are a fully licensed boarding facility with 5 star ratings.

With a unique disease profile, rabbits still require a mandatory period in quarantine after arrival into the UK. We hold a quarantine licence to fulfil the safe and legal import of pet rabbits.

As a licensed pet transport operator we can deliver your pet from the above UK airports to any mainland address in the UK, taking another job off of your list when moving here.
Our drivers are experienced animal handlers, dedicated to transporting pets safely and securely. Most of our drivers are pet owners and know the importance of getting your pet home to reunite with you after you’ve been apart – it’s often the most rewarding part of the process.

[H2] Heathrow Animal Lounge
Airpets’ own animal facility – made up of our airport pet reception, boarding accommodation and exercise paddocks.
Our animal lounge achieves the 5 star rating by the local licensing authority for cat and dog welfare. Procedures are in place for regular observations, enrichment and exercise. Our own animal welfare team see to the needs of the pets in our care 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Whether your pet is staying with us for a few hours or a few weeks, we aim to treat each pet as one of our own.
Our Animal Activity Licence number is 012888/01, issued and inspected by the London Borough of Hillingdon.
[H3] Travel lounge for dogs
Our dog facilities are designed to the highest recognised standards. This includes heating & cooling to maintain ambient temperatures and secure grass paddocks. Our trained attendants spend one on one time during twice daily walks, letting your dog stretch their legs before or after travel.
All our kennels have their own separate run and sleeping area to allow ample space for their needs while inside. We also keep a large range of hygienic toys and nutritious foods in stock which can be tailored to your dogs requirements.
[H3] Travel lounge for cats
Each cat kennel offers elevated ‘penthouse’ units, giving the option of a hide away space or looking out of the window. Wipe clean surfaces, plastic beds lined with vet bedding and daily litter changing keep our cat lounge safe and hygienic.
We have dedicated cat carers that keep your feline friend engaged and entertained during their stay. On site veterinary attendance is also available should your cat need special attention. We stock all major brands of wet and dry food at our animal lounge, with special diets catered for upon request.

A family business since 1966

The origin of Airpets stretches back over 50 years, when Mr John Woodward, a farmer, established Airpets with a small number of boarding kennels. Following the introduction of the Rabies Act 1974 and located so close to Heathrow, the kennels were then used to provide animal accommodation to meet the quarantine requirements at that time. The increasing demand for people bringing their pets to the UK led to further expansion of the kennels, providing larger and more comfortable facilities for all types of domestic animals.

The Pet Travel Scheme was then formed in the 80’s removing the need for quarantine between a growing number of countries and the demand for international pet travel grew. Airpets became an IATA accredited cargo agent with the ability to make flexible airline bookings on behalf of pet owners. This put Airpets at the forefront of developing the booking and health checking process for pets travelling by air cargo from Heathrow.

Today, Airpets is ran by 3rd generation family members, Directors Jack and Hugo, alongside Sophie who leads on moves to Australia and animal welfare. We continue to work closely with all air cargo operators to ensure travel routes remain accessible without compromising on the safety or security of any animal.
