SUB-PAGE (http://plvet.co.uk/about-us/brucella-canis/) Brucella canis – Priory Lodge Vets
[H1] Brucella canis [H3] Risk Information and Clinic Policy Brucella canis is a bacterial infection that affects dogs and can be passed to people. Dogs with the infection may show no symptoms but can still pass it on. The bacteria is most likely to be found in reproductive tissues, but it can also be present in blood, urine, saliva, and other body fluids. Although human cases are very rare, some groups are more vulnerable, including children, pregnant individuals, and anyone with a weakened immune system. Because of this, many UK veterinary practices, including ourselves now use strict safety measures to protect our clients, staff, and other pets. UK Government policy on Brucella canis: information for the public and dog owners [H3] Imported and Travelling Dogs We ask all clients about import history and travel because Brucella canis is more common in some countries, such as Romania or Ukraine. If a dog has been imported or has had close contact with an infected dog, we require proof of a negative test taken at least three months after arrival or last exposure. Until this is available, we class the dog as untested. Untested dogs cannot be seen for: Routine appointments Elective procedures Hospitalisation They can be seen for genuine emergencies only, using isolation and protective equipment. We reserve the right to refuse certain high-risk procedures and do not take in referrals for untested dogs. [H3] Testing Brucella canis testing must be carried out after the appropriate waiting period to ensure accurate results. If testing is done earlier due to clinical need, a repeat test will still be required at the three month mark. Unfortunately this includes current government-recommended pre-import tests as they will not pick up more recent infections. [H3] If a dog tests positive A confirmed positive result means: No routine treatment can be provided No home visits can be offered Only euthanasia or approved re-testing (for in-contact dogs) is available This is consistent with the national infection control approach used by most practices dealing with confirmed cases. A senior vet will talk through risks, government advice, and next steps. Humane euthanasia is usually recommended due to the ongoing risk of transmission to your own family and other pets and lack of curative treatment.

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Pets, Veterinary & Animal Services BS: Priory Lodge Vets (www.plvet.co.uk)
Priory Lodge Vets presents a sophisticated facade of B-Corp ethics and employee ownership, yet fails the most basic transparency test by keeping its medical staff anonymous. The 75-year discrepancy in their self-reported history is a critical error that suggests the brand’s ‘heritage’ is being used as a marketing ornament rather than a factual foundation. It is a site that promises a ‘familiar face’ while refusing to show one.
Immediately synchronize the practice history across all pages to resolve the 50 vs 125-year discrepancy. Populate the Team page with real names, photographs, and professional registration numbers (MRCVS) for all veterinary surgeons. Hyperlink the B-Corp and Employee-Owned claims to their respective directories or certificates to provide a verifiable proof path. Implement LocalBusiness and Veterinarian schema to provide search engines with structured identity data.
The content perfectly aligns with the Veterinary and Animal Services category, focusing on small animal practice, health clubs, and clinical policies. Specific mentions of Brucella canis and RCVS-standard nursing clinics confirm industry relevance.
“The score of 45 is driven primarily by Identity and Authority gaps and Semantic Coherence failures. While the unique B-Corp and employee-ownership model (if true) reduces the Commodity Fingerprint, the total lack of named experts and the glaring 75-year date contradiction prevent a 'Low BS' rating. The site performs well on specific clinical information (Brucella canis) but fails on institutional transparency.”
