Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Photography, Video & Creative Studios
Generic Claims: capturing your story, moments that last forever, award-winning photographer, creative vision brought to life…
Red Flags: portfolio with inconsistent styles suggesting multiple photographers, no pricing information at all, stock photos used in marketing materials, award claims without named awarding body…
Semantic Drift Patterns: portfolio shows one style but claims versatility in every genre, homepage positions as editorial but services are event coverage, claims commercial photography but portfolio is personal projects, premium positioning but pricing page reveals budget packages…
Proof Expectations: portfolio with consistent body of recent work, specific equipment and technique information, named clients or publications with verifiable credits, real testimonials linked to specific projects…

About
[H2] One filmmaker. 20 years. London.
I'm Ian Burke — the person behind Promo Video. I founded the company in 2006 and have been making promotional videos, documentaries and event films ever since, with a small team of editors, camera operators and animators I bring in as projects need.
Most of my 360° and VR production now goes through a separate studio I run, Catch Reality — that's also where Insta360 Titan and Pro 2 camera hire sits. Promo Video is the conventional-video side of the work.

SUB-PAGE (http://promovideo.co.uk/about/) About Ian Burke — Filmmaker & Promotional Video Producer, London
About
[H1] Ian Burke — filmmaker, London
Promo Video is the video production work of Ian Burke — a London-based filmmaker with 20 years of promotional, corporate and event video behind him.

[IMG: Ian Burke, filmmaker — on the London Underground with an Insta360 Titan 360° camera]

I'm Ian Burke, and Promo Video is what I've called my video production business since I founded it in 2006. Before filmmaking it was music — composing for film and playing professionally — which still shapes the way I edit. I care a lot about how music works with the moving image, and most of our finished films reflect that.

[H2] 20 years in short-form video
Over the last two decades I've made hundreds of short-form videos for businesses, trade associations, agencies, charities, theatres and musicians. The work sits in three rough areas:
Promotional video — brand films, product launches, explainers, recruitment films.
Corporate event coverage — multi-camera filming of conferences, seminars, panels and awards, with highlight reels, speaker interviews and live streaming.
Long-term client relationships — a handful of agencies and associations I've been producing for year-on-year, some for over a decade.
[H2] A selection of people I've worked with
The NHS, HM Treasury, Three mobile, Lego, APCOA, Ravensbourne University, Northampton University, NTS Radio, Aphex Twin, Gary Barlow, Eli & Fur, the Aga Khan Centre, Pi Live (London and Europe, 12 years running), Event Academy, Global Sourcing Association, Speakers Corner, Engie, Cheltenham Festival and Access Pay — plus many more London events, agencies, trade associations, theatres, charities and musicians.
Several of these are long-standing relationships, with some clients I've been producing for year-on-year for over a decade.

[H2] 360° and VR — Catch Reality
In 2015 I began incorporating 360° video into the work, initially as an add-on for music and event clients. By 2018 it had become a specialism in its own right. In 2023 I split that side of the business into a dedicated studio — Catch Reality — which is now where all 360° production, VR work, dome content and Insta360 Titan / Pro 2 camera hire lives.
Promo Video is the conventional-video side. Catch Reality is the immersive side. Both are run by the same person with the same production team, so projects that need both can be handled as one brief.

[H2] How I work
Small, reliable team. Quick turnaround. No account-management layer between you and the person holding the camera. First cut within a week of the shoot. Up to two rounds of revisions. Fixed-price quotes after a 20-minute scoping call.

Promotional video production in London since 2006 — short-form promo video, longer-form promotional films and documentaries for businesses, agencies, performers and events.

[IMG: Promotional video production — selected work from LEGO, HM Treasury, APCOA, Speakers Corner and Pi Live]

Promo Video is a London-based promotional video production company run by filmmaker Ian Burke. I produce short, high-impact promos — typically 60 seconds to 3 minutes — and longer-form promotional films, brand documentaries and explainer content when a project calls for more depth.

[H2] What we produce

Short promotional video — 60-second to 3-minute promos for brands, products, services and events.
Longer-form promotional films — 5–10 minute films for launches, internal comms and thought-leadership.
Documentary production — branded documentaries, profile films and cause-led storytelling.
Product launch videos — including short-form cuts for Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
Customer testimonial films — interview-led, packaged for web and social.
Explainer videos — live action, motion graphics or a hybrid of both.

[H2] Our process

Brief & quote — a 20-minute call to scope length, deliverables and budget.
Script & shotlist — a treatment you sign off before we shoot.
Production — single or multi-camera depending on the brief.
Edit — first cut within a week; up to two rounds of revisions.
Delivery — HD or 4K master plus social cuts ready for web.
[H2] Why work with Ian
Twenty years of producing promotional video in London, with a track record across agencies, trade associations, theatres, charities and large brands. Small, reliable team. Quick turnaround. No account-management layer between you and the person holding the camera.
If a project also needs 360° or VR content, we run a dedicated studio for that at Catch Reality — same director, same team, one point of contact.

FAQ
[H2] Frequently asked questions
How much does a promotional video cost in London? Most promo projects fall between £1,000 and £8,000 depending on the number of shoot days, crew size, motion graphics and the volume of edits. Send a brief and I'll give you a fixed quote within 24 hours. How long should a promotional video be?For most brand and product promos, 60 seconds to 3 minutes. The shortest I've produced is a 15-second Instagram product clip; the longest are around 5 minutes for niche industry films. 2–3 minutes is the best balance between content depth and viewer attention. How long does it take from brief to delivery?A typical project runs 2–4 weeks from brief sign-off to final delivery. I provide a first cut within a week of the shoot, then up to two rounds of revisions.Do you film in 4K?Yes. All shoots are 4K by default. I deliver in 4K, HD or platform-optimised social cuts as required. Can a promotional video include 360° or VR sequences?Yes. If the project benefits from immersive or 360° elements I handle that through my sister studio Catch Reality — same director and production team, so it stays one project with one point of contact.

[H1] Corporate Event Videography & Live Streaming — London
Multi-camera coverage, highlight reels, speaker interviews and live streaming for conferences, awards, panels and seminars.

[IMG: Event video — conference, seminar and awards coverage in London]

I've been filming corporate events in London for nearly two decades — conferences, awards ceremonies, seminars, training days, panel discussions and product launches. A typical engagement covers all four of the deliverables event organisers actually need: a short promo edit, full session captures, speaker interviews, and (if needed) a live stream.

[H2] What kind of event?
For a deeper look at the two areas we film most:
Conference videography in London — multi-camera filming, live streaming, highlight reels and speaker interviews. 12 years on Pi Live, plus Speakers Corner, Engie, Cheltenham Festival and more.
Trade show video in London — stand walkthroughs, product launches, exhibitor interviews and same-day social cuts at ExCeL, Olympia and across the UK.
[H2] What we cover at an event

Promo highlight reel — 90 seconds to 5 minutes, used to promote next year's event. Rough cut within a week.
Multi-camera session capture — typically 3 cameras (speaker close-up, wide stage with screen, audience reaction). Optional 4th camera for slide close-ups.
Speaker and delegate interviews — packaged as standalone content for your website, yearbook or social media.
Live streaming — multi-camera live mix to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn or your own platform, with on-screen titles and graphics.
360° video production — for VR headsets as well as conventional flat-screen playback, produced through our sister studio Catch Reality.
Photography — combined photo/video crew on the same day, when needed.

[IMG: Corporate event videography — One Question conference still]

[H2] Live streaming
From a single-camera stream to a fully mixed multi-camera production with titles, lower-thirds and live graphics. The stream is recorded, so you have a finished version of the session immediately — no extra editing costs. Remote viewers can comment and ask questions live.

[IMG: Multi-camera live streaming switcher at a London conference]

[H2] Sound
Wherever possible we take a feed from the venue's mixing desk for clean speaker audio. If that's not available we set up our own microphones — radio mics for speakers, a board mic on the lectern, ambient mics for audience reaction.

[H2] 360° event coverage
If your event would benefit from 360° or VR content — a virtual walkthrough of the venue, an immersive replay of a keynote, or behind-the-scenes footage for next year's marketing — that work is handled by my sister studio Catch Reality. Same crew, same director; I can run both on the same shoot.

"The Promo Video team filmed one of our larger events. They were very accommodating and provided live streaming and on-the-fly editing as well as a full video and photography. Despite a few setbacks with venue equipment they solved the technical issues so the event ran smoothly."
— Anthony Konarski, Access Pay

FAQ
[H2] Frequently asked questions
How many cameras do you bring to a conference? For a typical multi-camera setup we bring 3 cameras — a close-up on the speaker, a wide stage shot including the screen, and an audience camera for questions and reactions. We add a 4th camera for slide close-ups when slide legibility matters. Can you live stream to YouTube, Facebook or our own platform?Yes — to any RTMP-capable platform. The stream can be a single camera or a fully mixed multi-camera production with on-screen titles, lower-thirds and graphics. The mix is also recorded so you have a finished version of the session immediately. How quickly can we get the highlight reel after the event?A rough cut within a week of the shoot, with up to two rounds of revisions before delivery. Faster turnaround is possible — tell us the deadline up-front.Do you take audio from the venue mixing desk?Yes, that's our preference for clean speaker audio. If a desk feed isn't available we set up our own radio mics and ambient mics. Can you film an event in 360°?Yes — 360° event coverage runs through my sister studio Catch Reality. Same crew and director, so we can capture conventional and 360° footage on the same shoot for one combined fee.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

This site is a benchmark for substance-led marketing in the creative sector. By trading generic emotional appeals for hard data, transparent pricing, and a massive body of work, Ian Burke has made bullshit mathematically impossible. It is the digital equivalent of a high-resolution raw file: no filters, just detail.

To reach a near-zero score, explicitly link the high-profile client names in the About section (NHS, Lego) to their corresponding videos in the portfolio. Replace the placeholder items in the Dance and Music sections of the Archive to ensure the portfolio remains 100 percent active work. Integrate a live review widget on the Promotional Video page to connect the review count to verified external testimony. Finally, ensure the temporal claims are updated as the business moves deeper into 2026 to maintain the high technical credibility of the site.

The website perfectly aligns with the Photography, Video and Creative Studios industry. Its content provides granular detail on technical deliverables such as multi-camera conference capture, RTMP live streaming, and 360-degree VR production.

“The score of 12 is driven by minimal points in Information Density due to milestone repetition and Trust and Proof due to a lack of direct verification links for the specific review counts. Every other pillar scored at or near zero, reflecting a site built almost entirely on substance and verifiable facts.”
