[H2] CLUB WORKING vs COWORKING
When you’re looking for a place to work from, choosing from the latest flexible working environments is becoming an increasing challenge. The range of new workspaces are changing the London office scene dramatically.
If you’re an entrepreneur or part of a small team you need a dedicated location for work without high up-front costs or long-term commitments. You also want to be able to find a table, with power and high-speed internet as a priority.
Whilst HAY HILL is a business club many people ask us about co-working so we thought we’d be objective and present the pros and cons of each and by the end of the page we hope you’ll know which approach is the most appropriate for you.

Co-working is essentially shared workspaces – think hot-desking and affordable – a natural step after a home/coffee shop mix.
The approach is almost synonymous with technology driven start-ups – if you and your team of developers are the next Unicorn in the making then co-working in Hoxton or Shoreditch in bare brick funkiness is almost obligatory. The dress code is on the whole is non-existent.

[H4] The Case for Club Working

If your work involves privacy, discretion and is directed at high net worth individuals and markets then you’ll find club working much more amenable to your business.
If your clients are used to a superior level of comfort and service then meeting in an environment that reflects that is going to be a better solution.

[H4] Business Club vs Traditional Club

If you prefer the old world, the creak of leather and whispered conversation over a glass of brandy then the more established, traditional London clubs on Pall Mall and St James Square will be more appropriate. But be aware you’ll be unable to use your mobile phone or discuss business and opening a laptop will probably get you ejected from the premises.

We believe that Hay Hill offers the best of all three – from ‘hot desk’ tables or a private office to run your business from, high speed internet, an all-day restaurant serving some of the best food in Mayfair and a bar serving drinks or cocktails for any occasion that suits your mood. Take and make calls in our dedicated phone booth or enjoy a cigar and brandy on our smoking terrace.
