Pardes is an inclusive environment open to applicants of all Jewish backgrounds.Candidates must be motivated to deepen their Jewish knowledge and strengthen their text skills whether beginner or advanced learners.Students must have English language proficiency (speaking, reading, and comprehension.)We welcome students currently enrolled in, or having recently completed, a recognized Jewish conversion program. Pardes offers financial assistance to students based on need and/or merit and tries to ensure that no qualified student is turned away for financial reasons. Grants and interest-free loans for tuition (students studying 20+ hrs/wk) and for living expenses (students studying 30+ hrs/wk only) are available to eligible applicants. Funds awarded for living expenses are disbursed to the students in the form of monthly stipends during the program.Financial aid applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to earlier applications.To apply, submit the Financial Aid Form. Candidates can apply for a specific grant or scholarship (see below) or for general financial aid. All applicants who are eligible for Masa funding (see below) must apply to Masa before submitting a financial aid application to Pardes.Pardes is a qualified institution for the deferment of most U.S. Government student loans. Request a loan deferment form from your loan provider.
[H5] Masa Israel Journey Funding to Study at Pardes
Masa Israel Journey was established by the government of Israel and the Jewish Agency to enable Jewish young adults to participate in immersive programs in Israel. Masa offers either automatic grants or needs-based scholarships to eligible applicants. Click here for Masa’s current eligibility requirements.Up to $5400 of the Masa award will be applied to Pardes tuition (leaving a tuition balance as low as $500 for the full year). Any remaining funds are paid out to the student in monthly installments during the program to assist with living expenses.Applicants from outside North America should check the Masa website to determine the amount of the award for their country. Awards are limited in number and students are encouraged to apply early.

The following Pardes tuition grants are available to assist those in the categories below who are NOT eligible for funding through Masa Israel Journey or through the below fellowships:50% off Year Program tuition:Israeli Citizens Permanently Residing in Israel$3,000 off Year Program tuition ($2,000 if receiving Masa):Recent college graduates (within the last year) who have demonstrated a deep commitment to personal growth and investment in Jewish community-building. Is the Pardes Year Program for me?

The Year Program is geared toward curious Jews of all ages, backgrounds and affiliations who are serious about studying Jewish texts and exploring the many diverse aspects of Jewish life and culture.

Is there a specific age I need to be to study at Pardes?

No, students of all ages are welcome. While the majority of our students are in their 20’s and 30s, there are others in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and beyond – a true celebration of lifelong learning. Pardes takes pride in the intergenerational nature of our community, and everyone benefits from the sharing of perspectives, life experiences and outlooks that comes from studying together and building meaningful relationships.

Do I need to be Jewish to study at Pardes?

Anyone who is currently considered Jewish according to any of the major denominations of Judaism, or is already engaged in a formal conversion process, is eligible to apply to Pardes.

Do I have to have a university degree?

Yes, however on rare occasions, we are able to make exceptions.

I'm Israeli, can I study at Pardes?

Israelis with strong English are warmly invited to join the Pardes Year Program, and both gain from and enrich our international student community. Our Israeli students bring a variety of life stories, from secular kibbutz to Haredi upbringings and everything in between. Israeli students have often served as a bridge for their peers to better understand and encounter contemporary Israeli society, while they gain deeper insights in global Jewry. Israeli citizen residents receive 50% off tuition.

I have no plans to become a Jewish professional, and have focused professional aspirations. How will Pardes impact my career trajectory?

At Pardes, you will exercise critical thinking and deepen your communication and interpersonal skills, which are highly sought after in the workplace. Dedicating time for personal growth gives you a perspective that can help advance your professional goals and enrich your interactions.You will also expand your network through the close personal relationships you build with your peers and your teachers.
