Want to buy VaultPress Backup, Scan, or Akismet Anti-spam individually? Check out the pricing page! [H2] Questions? We’ve got you covered. How does Jetpack VaultPress Backup work? Jetpack VaultPress Backup is activated and your first backup is created as soon as you complete your purchase. At the top of your activity log, you will see the following prompt to add remote access / server credentials for your site. These credentials allow you to connect for backups if the Jetpack connection isn’t working and they’re also required for site restores. Once backups start, you’ll see a “Backup complete” event in your activity log, either daily or when you make changes, and know that your WordPress site is securely backed up. Click the ellipsis (three dots) to the right of the event will show available restore and download options. With this WordPress backup plugin, you can revert changes or restore an earlier version of your site if you need to – regardless of whether it’s because your WordPress security scan has picked up a malicious threat, or if you’ve simply been messing around with your site’s design. No ifs, ands, or uh-ohs about it. What threats does Jetpack Scan catch? Threats might include: Changes to Core WordPress files – generally, these files should never be changed, so your WordPress security scan will automatically flag any changes as suspicious. Outdated or insecure plugins – Plugins that have known security vulnerabilities will be detected by Jetpack Scan. If there’s a newer version that has patched the threat, you can update the plugin with one click. If there is no newer version with a fix, we allow you to delete the plugin from your site. Other Vulnerabilities – Web-based shells give an attacker full access to your server — allowing them to execute malicious code, delete files, make changes to your database, and many more dangerous things. Shells are usually found in files, so our WordPress vulnerability scanner will pick them up so they can be removed by deleting any infected files from your server and replacing them with a clean version from your backup. The WordPress vulnerability scanner page provides an at-a-glance reference of the current state of the site. It will either show that the site is looking great, or it will list the currently active threats. What other security features does Jetpack Security include? Besides backups, malware scanning, and comment spam protection, Jetpack Security includes: Brute force attack protection – We automatically block attempts to hack your site from millions of known malicious attackers. Downtime monitoring – We’ll let you know instantly if your site goes down, so you can find out before your customers do. Activity log – Understand every site change and take the guesswork out of site management and repair. Secure authentication – Sign in to WordPress sites quickly and securely, and add optional two-factor authentication. Why do I need security for my site? Security is important to consider for any site or online business, including WordPress. If your site is hacked it can cause serious damage to your income and your business’ reputation. Hackers can manipulate your website’s data, steal information from you or your users (including passwords), install and execute malicious code, and even distribute the malicious code between your users. SaaS has its place, but there’s so much value in hosting your own WordPress CRM. Can I upload existing customers into the Jetpack CRM? The free core WordPress CRM plugin has a basic CSV Importer which works well. The WordPress related posts feature scans all of your post content, analyzes it, and uses the results to display additional posts your visitors might be interested in reading after they’re finished with the current post. Most sites that activate this see an increase in traffic. Unlike many other related post plugins, we do all the analysis, processing, and serving from our cloud, so there is no additional load on your server. That’s why Jetpack Related Posts are allowed on web hosts even when similar plugins are banned. How do I configure the WordPress related posts feature? To start using Related Posts, go to Jetpack → Settings → Traffic page and activate the “Show related content after posts” toggle. For more information, check out this support article. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 1129 businesses audited.
Jetpack has 12.1 points less BS than the average for Software, SaaS & Tech Products.
Software, SaaS & Tech Products BS: Jetpack (jetpack.com)
This is a rare case of a substance-heavy technical product that uses safe marketing cliches as a user-friendly wrapper. While the headings are saturated with generic SaaS fluff, the technical depth and verifiable founder authority make it a benchmark for low-BS software. It effectively utilizes its massive 27M site count to bypass the need for external third-party review links.
Replace the vague H1 Let’s elevate your site with a specific outcome-based heading like Real-time Security and Performance for WordPress. Link the 27M sites claim to a live statistics or transparency page to move it from a generic claim to verifiable evidence. Provide direct outbound links to the mentioned 41 reviews on third-party platforms to eliminate the trust theatre penalty. Finally, replace industry cliches like automagically with descriptions of the actual background technical processes.
The website aligns perfectly with the Software & SaaS category, specifically targeting the WordPress ecosystem. The presence of specific technical deliverables like Web Application Firewall (WAF), Real-time malware scanning, and Automated CSS Generation confirms it is a technical product rather than a generic marketing shell.
“The BS score of 21 is primarily driven by generic heading fluff and trust theatre patterns related to unlinked review counts. While the technical substance is high, the one-click marketing oversimplification and lack of verified external review links prevent a minimal score. The site's authority layer is flawless, keeping the final score in the Low BS range.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from Jetpack, captured on June 20, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to Jetpack: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
