SUB-PAGE (https://jamesclear.com/about/) About James Clear
[H2] Hi, I’m James Clear. I’ve been writing at JamesClear.com about habits, decision making, and continuous improvement since 2012. I’m the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, Atomic Habits, which has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 60 languages. I'm also known for my popular 3-2-1 newsletter, which is sent out each week to more than 3 million subscribers. Click here to learn more and sign up. You can find me elsewhere on Twitter and Instagram. Author of Atomic Habits Creator of the 3-2-1 newsletter Speaker at major companies and events [H2] How My Work Will Benefit You I'm an advocate for useful ideas. The central question I explore through my work is, “How can we live better?” In other words, I want to find great ideas and explain them in a way that is easy to use and apply to daily life. My writing focuses on topics like… How to start (and stick to) good habitsHow to make good choices and avoid bad onesHow to accomplish more in less timeHow to create better systems and processesHow to achieve meaningful results without overwhelming yourself Most of all, I write about how to put these ideas into practice in daily life. Most of the concepts I write about aren’t my own. They are ideas I discover and build upon after many hours of reading and research. I look for insights from all fields: architecture, biology, economics, history, mathematics, physics, philosophy, and more. I consider it my job to find the best ideas and explain them in a way that is actionable and easy-to-understand. Humankind progresses by adding layer upon layer of knowledge. We all benefit from the insights of our ancestors. I like the idea of leaving a great “intellectual inheritance,” and I’m trying to add a little bit of knowledge to the pile by creating this website and sharing my work. I don't claim to have all the answers and I still have a lot to learn, but I'm happy to share what I've discovered so far. My work isn’t the only way to think about life, but it’s how I think about it. Hopefully, you’ll find it useful as well. You can start by reading my articles or check out my books. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Blogs, Influencers & Personal Brands BS: James Clear (www.jamesclear.com)
This is a benchmark for low-bullshit personal branding. By replacing vague ‘thought leadership’ with forensic evidence—ranging from deadlift weights to audited net distributions—James Clear effectively eliminates the gap between claim and proof.
To reach a sub-10 score, the technical implementation must catch up to the content substance. Replace generic WebPage schema with Person schema including sameAs links to NYT bestseller lists and official media profiles. Integrate third-party verification links for the stated 25M+ sales and 3M+ subscriber metrics. Finally, convert the ‘Featured In’ logos into direct outbound links to the specific articles or interviews mentioned to move the proof_links_count from 0 to 8+.
The site is a textbook archetype of the Blogs, Influencers & Personal Brands category. It centers entirely around the intellectual property and personal track record of a single individual, utilizing traditional influencer conversion funnels like newsletter subscriptions and book sales.
“The score of 15 is primarily driven by technical trust theatre flags (review_count > 0 without verified metadata proof links) and minor schema identity gaps. The site's content itself is nearly devoid of typical influencer bullshit.”
This training module utilizes a snapshot of public data from James Clear, captured on May 16, 2026, to demonstrate how machine logic evaluates different types of business narratives.
Purpose: This data is presented under “Fair Use” / “Educational Exception” for the purpose of forensic semantic analysis, allowing users to compare human intuition against machine-generated evaluations.
Notice to James Clear: This analysis is part of a non-adversarial audit conducted by 1 Euro SEO. The results provided by 1EuroSEO are intended as professional feedback to help improve any website’s machine-readability and authority signals. The 1EuroSEO BS Detection Tool is a free tool, and anyone can test any company to see how their content is interpreted by AI models.
Any company can use the insights for free and improve its voice by comparing it to industry clichés or competitors. When a company has updated its content, it can always submit a new audit request, which will be reflected in a new current score.
To all users: You are encouraged to visit the live site at https://www.jamesclear.com to view the most current version of its content and learn from the source what this company is about and what it offers.
