[H1] OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

[H2] Working with you to make construction better

The construction industry consumes a huge amount of raw materials and natural resources, and is responsible for almost 40% of total global energy-related CO2 emissions. How can we help drive change in the industry towards a more sustainable future?
We aim to be the best partner for sustainability by helping you become more sustainable while becoming more sustainable ourselves.

[H2] Helping you become more sustainable

[H3] Solutions designed to help lower carbon emissions and reduce waste

We aim to promote long-term success through a business strategy that places value on the environment, people and society, along with economic factors. We can help you become more sustainable with low-carbon products.
And with our help, your business can also do more with less all along the supply chain. That includes everything from our Integrated Project Solutions s that help you reduce material waste to our Fleet Management tool solution, designed to bring the circular economy to your jobsites.

[H2] Circular economy
Our circularity approach focuses on the entire life cycle of our products from design to production to repair, generating maximum value from a minimum use of raw construction materials and resources – doing more with less.

[H2] Green buildings
Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the environment. We support green building schemes like LEED with product declarations such as EPDs, VOCs and C2C.

[H2] Reduce emissions from concrete
Concrete is the most important material used in construction with cement as its key functional ingredient. Cement production typically requires fossil fuels to “burn” the cement and generates CO2 as a direct by-product of the chemical reaction. Concrete Sensors provide solutions that can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of concrete and create more sustainable construction.

The three pillars of our corporate sustainability strategy

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) provides a recognized framework for companies to set long-term science-based CO2 emission targets in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. We are committed to lowering our carbon footprint and limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C (34.7°F). F
We are drawing up an action plan to significantly reduce carbon emissions along our entire value chain by 2032 (near-term target) and achieve net-zero by 2050 (long-term target).

We're committed to the health, safety and well-being of our team members - and yours, too.
We not only offer products and services that focus on jobsite and building safety but also help improve safety standards by working with research and approval bodies. Health and safety are baked into every part of our product development processes: from the substances we use to the tool innovations designed to help protect users from fatigue and injuries.

We understand there are societal challenges where we live and work. That's why we engage our employees within our corporate volunteering program to make contributions that go beyond business practices.
In developing countries and emerging markets, the Hilti Foundation is committed to empowering people to lead independent and self-determined lives. Its goal is to make a social impact at scale. By working with Hilti, you're contributing to a better world for future generations.

[H1] Your partner in productivity

[H2] Together, we can help drive more productivity and profitability for your business in five key areas

Productivity is lagging in construction, bid prices can’t keep up with rising projects costs, and profits suffer. This is because the average worker spends only 30% of their day performing their actual duties, with up to 70% spent on inefficient processes.
With five key opportunities for optimizing productivity across project workflows, Hilti is partnering with our customers to overcome these challenges and help strengthen their business and their bottom lines. Our solutions help eliminate, speed up, and simplify steps throughout entire project workflows so our customers can capitalize on every workable hour. Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

BS Detector

Construction, Contractors & Building Services BS: Hilti (hilti.com)

https://hilti.com 📍 Industry: Construction, Contractors & Building Services
17 BS / 100

Hilti is a benchmark for high-substance industrial communication, grounding nearly all marketing signals in manufacturing reality and specific operational metrics. The site avoids the middleman BS typical of the construction industry by detailing its direct-to-customer model and R&D ownership. Minor BS points are only accrued for unnamed internal experts and slightly aging sustainability data relative to the 2026 system date.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
4
13% BS
Semantic Coherence Homepage promise vs. Sub-page reality.
0
0% BS
Trust & Proof Verifiable evidence vs. Trust Theatre.
4
20% BS
Commodity Fingerprint Detection of industry clichés/templates.
4
27% BS
Identity & Authority Expert verifiability & Schema depth.
5
33% BS

To further lower the BS score, Hilti should update the 2023 sustainability metrics to current-year data to avoid temporal staleness. Implementing Person schema for the leadership of the R&D labs and the Hilti Foundation would close the remaining authority gap. The company should also replace generic H2 slogans like Making construction better with technical headers that reference specific ISO standards or proprietary frameworks. Finally, linking internal review_count metrics to a transparent third-party platform would eliminate any trace of Trust Theatre.

The website perfectly matches the Construction, Contractors & Building Services category, specifically as a vertically integrated manufacturer and service provider. The technical depth regarding specialized tools, engineering software like PROFIS, and jobsite productivity solutions confirms its role within the professional construction ecosystem.

“The score of 17 is driven primarily by small authority gaps and the presence of standard corporate jargon. The Information Density (4) and Semantic Coherence (0) scores are exceptionally low, reflecting the site's high degree of technical substance and structural alignment. Minor penalties in Trust and Proof (4) and Authority (5) reflect a lack of named expert footprints and a reliance on internal rather than third-party verified review streams.”
