Jigsaw Day Nursery was opened in September 2003 based in the village of Ballyrobert, by Grace and Paul Millar.
Since then, we have become a leading nursery in County Antrim branching out and opening a second setting in March 2015 in the town of Ballyclare.
We encourage prospective parents to give us a call to arrange an appointment. We welcome you to come and have a look around your preferred site, where we will endeavour to answer any questions you may have.
We understand that choosing the right nursery for your child is a big decision therefore our ethos is to create a home from home experience, filled with loving care and attention, while helping your little ones thrive.

After our babies, our next group is Tiddlers. The children are beginning to develop new skills by exploring and using their imagination. We encourage this through our monthly plans that is incorporated in our daily routine.

Within preschool are children are aged 3-5 years. We help and encourage your little one prepare for school. We introduce them to the early years curriculum and encourage them to enjoy learning as we make our daily routine fun and interesting.
Some children also attending nursery school while in our care and enjoy using our 'jiggy bus' to transport them.

[H4] Here at Jigsaw Day Nursery we have our very own qualified Nursery Chef who creates nutritionally balanced menus.
Our menus are designed to give your little one the best start in life. We make this possible by supplying our children with home cooked nutritional food, bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables and all the essential ingredients necessary for healthy physical and mental development. Whenever possible we source our food locally and organically, including meat, seasonal vegetables, and fruit into our menus.  Our children have a choice of milk or water to drink throughout the day.  We believe that mealtimes should be a happy, relaxed time where children learn social skills, manners, good hygiene practice and healthy eating habits to last them a lifetime. To receive copies of our menus or to speakto our Nursery Chef please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dairy Free Milk We offer a variety of milk including animal and plant-based milks. Speak to our Nursery Chef regarding your preference.
No added Sugar or Salt We do not add additional salt or sugar to any of the food we provide. Where possible we purchase products with reduced salt and lower sugar, ensuring that your child’s salt and sugar intake complies with national guidelines.
Breast Feeding Friendly We are a breast-feeding friendly Nursery, with staff trained in breast milk storage. We encourage and welcome you to visit during the day to feed your child whenever necessary.
Vegetarian & Vegan Options We are happy to cater for all preferences including Vegetarian and Vegan.
Dietary Requirements We are happy to cater for a whole range of dietary/ religious/ cultural requirements. Please speak to our Nursery Chef for more information.
Allergies & First Aid Our staff are trained in First Aid and our Nursery Chef is experienced in catering to allergies. You are more than welcome to meet with our Chef to discuss your requirements.

In Jigsaw Day Nursery we pride ourselves on providing your child with home cooked meals and snacks.
We purchase all our food from local suppliers, supermarkets, butchers and fruit and veg shops and milk man on a weekly basis.
We cater for many different allergies, intolerance’s and preferences.

Like most homes, the kitchen is a focal point in both our nurseries. Both kitchens have been awarded the Top 5 star scores on the door award.

When your child is going to be late arriving in the morning or going to be absent, we always welcome a phone call. If you are going to be off work for the day, please inform a staff member where you can be reached or to tell us to contact you on your mobile phone instead of on your work number.
Also, if you change work or move to a new house it is particularly important that the nursery is kept up to date with the changes in phone numbers.
DiaryThere is a diary provided for each child for the baby room children and this is written up every day by the staff. This lets Mum & Dad know how their child has spent the day at nursery. At the end of each day a verbal handover will be given to inform.
CommunicationAt Jigsaw Day Nursery communication is at the centre of everything we do, and we are always on hand to discuss the care of your child. If you wish to make any comments, suggestions or make a complaint you can talk to your child’s room supervisor, Deputy Manager or Nursery Manager.
We have introduced a new app for use within the nursery called Famly. This is an invaluable tool to use as a window into your child’s day.
If you have any concerns as to your child’s behaviour at home or need a little bit of advice just give us a ring or pop into the office and talk it through. With all the experience we have gathered over the years we can usually come up with a couple of suggestions for you to try.

Tax‑Free Childcare is a government scheme that helps working families with the cost of childcare. For every £8 you pay into your online childcare account, the government adds an extra £2 giving you up to £2,000 per child per year towards nursery fees. It’s available to most working parents, including those who are self‑employed, and can be used alongside our regular payment options. Once your account is set up, you simply make payments through your Tax‑Free Childcare portal, and the top‑up is applied automatically.

Child Tax Credit from the Inland Revenue is awarded directly for childcare costs. A form is available from the Child Tax Credit Office on 0345 300 3900.

We’re delighted to be a registered provider for the Northern Ireland Childcare Subsidy Scheme (NICSS), a government initiative designed to help working parents with the cost of childcare. NICSS offers a 15% subsidy on eligible childcare fees for families who are registered for Tax‑Free Childcare (TFC) and use a childcare provider who is also signed up to the scheme. This support applies to children aged 0 – 4, and since 1 September 2025, it extended to school‑aged children. To benefit from NICSS, parents simply need to: * Be registered for Tax‑Free Childcare * Register their child for NICSS through the Early Years portal * Ensure their childcare provider is registered with the scheme
