Training Example: Belazu – Review the Data, Give Your Score & Compare to the Real AI Evaluation

Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Food, Restaurants & Delivery
Generic Claims: the best food in town, authentic flavors, made with love, quality ingredients…
Red Flags: no food hygiene rating displayed, stock food photography, locally sourced claims without naming any supplier, award claims without verifiable source…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims fine dining but menu prices are casual, claims locally sourced but no suppliers named, homepage shows plated dishes but delivery menu is different items, claims authentic cuisine but menu is fusion with no cultural specificity…
Proof Expectations: food hygiene rating displayed, named ingredient suppliers and sources, chef background and culinary credentials, real food photography not stock images…

SUB-PAGE (https://belazu.com/b-corporation/) We are B-Corp
The way we do things at Belazu doesn’t always make sense. To this day we still hand mix our olives, rather than using a machine that could damage them. We make small batch Pestos with fresh basil that is grown under the Italian sunshine, not basil that is grown in polytunnels. Our quest for the best flavour, ingredients and suppliers means we don’t always take the simplest, or cheapest option, which can seem at odds with a traditional business mentality.

What does make sense to us is that business can be used as a force for good. From the moment our co-founder George came back across the channel with a van full of olives and big dreams, sustainability and social engagement have always been weaved into our business goals. So, it is with much excitement that we have joined the B-Corp™ community as a company who meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance.

We work together with our community of suppliers, customers, employees, and wider partners to accomplish our CSR goals. We launched our new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, ‘The Journey Matters’, to give our sustainability program a more goal-driven focus. Product, Planet, and People are the three core pillars of the initiative. We also founded the Belazu Foundation, a charity whose goal is to support food and educational projects for children and young people in the UK and the Mediterranean. Applying to become a B-Corp™ was the next logical step in our sustainability journey.

We went through a rigorous certification process to become a B-Corp™, an important process that shows we are doing what we say. You can see our scores for each individual section below:

Our new certification means we are now part of a community of over 3,800 certified B-Corps™. We’ve always valued working with other like-minded businesses and are excited to continue working towards more ambitious goals that help us reach the highest standards of social and environmental performance. As proud of what we have achieved so far, we are also aware we have a lot more to accomplish while contributing to a more sustainable future for all.
If you want to certify for B-Corp™ or to find out more about our CSR plans, please contact Linde@belazu.com. Play our video below to find out more .

If you would like to stay in touch with us and see updates on our B-Corp™ journey, follow Belazu on social media on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook and Pinterest.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

15 BS / 100

Belazu exhibits remarkably low BS, using its digital space to detail actual production processes and verified third-party standards. The substance on the B-Corp and Homepage significantly outweighs the standard e-commerce fluff found in the login and recipe navigation.

Fix the missing H1 tag on the homepage to ensure the primary ‘Chef-Grade’ signal is technically registered. Implement Organization and Person schema to programmatically link the brand to Raymond Blanc and co-founder George. Explicitly list the B-Corp category scores on the B-Corp page as the text currently promises them but the crawl suggests they may be in a video or missing. Add a link to the Belazu Foundation’s registration or annual impact report.

The site strongly aligns with the premium food ingredient and delivery category. Content specifically focuses on chef-grade sourcing, Mediterranean flavor profiles, and artisanal production methods mentioned in the industry dictionary.

“The score of 15 is driven primarily by the lack of structured data and minor technical hierarchy issues. Semantically, the site is highly credible, with the Trust and Proof pillar and Semantic Coherence pillar scoring near zero due to the high degree of verification and consistency.”
