Discover Our Flavours

[H2] At Murphy's, We Make Real Ice Cream!

We have been making it naturally, locally and truthfully in Dingle since 2000. Good ice cream is about feeling good, and we want to make memorable flavours that put a smile on your face. We don’t use colourings, flavourings, or powdered milk - we prefer the real thing - and that starts with fresh from the farm milk, lots of local cream, free range eggs, and organic sugar. Then we toast, simmer, bake, and extract real ingredients. We temper chocolate and infuse alcohol. We're so fussy, we even make our own Sea Salt from Dingle sea water. We do all this to help make it (hopefully) the best ice cream you’ve ever tasted. Most of all, we make it to be enjoyed, shared & savoured... so have a Murphy's moment, and dig in.
Go raibh míle maith agat!
Seán Murphy

There’s no real trick to what we do, we just take care and use the best of everything. Murphy's Ice Cream uses milk from the rare, indigenous breed of Kerry cow because the milk is so wonderful. We have a great team behind the scenes who are instrumental in what we do. If you’re in our shops, say hi to Aine, Kevin, Karen, Emily, and Stephen and their teams - they are the people who keep Murphy's going!

SUB-PAGE (https://murphysicecream.ie/pages/our-flavours/) Our Flavours – murphysicecream.ie
[H1] Our Flavours

[H1] Made with Real Ingredients

[H2] Irish Brown Bread - Arán Donn

Our Brown bread is supplied by McCambridge. Our bread goes into the oven with muscovado sugar for 8 hours to caramelise, only then is it ready for our ice cream.

[H2] Dingle Sea Salt - Salann

Our best selling Sea Salt ice cream comes straight from the Atlantic Ocean. We make our own salt for this flavour, from Dingle sea water we collect at Bín Bán beach. It is filtered and boiled down to become ready for our ice cream.

[H2] Honeycomb Caramel - Caramel

Our Honeycomb Caramel features two distinct types of honeycomb pieces, offering a delightful combination of melt-in-your-mouth caramel and a satisfying crunchy honeycomb.

[H2] Butterscotch - Imreog

We’ve built this flavour from scratch to get a rich butterscotch flavour. It’s made with muscovado sugar, butter, and salt.

[H2] Kieran's Cookies - Brioscaí

We make the cookies ourselves to get them just right. It took months of research and piles of cookie tasting.

[H2] Smooth Chocolate - Seacláid

This exceptionally chocolatety flavour is made with 100% pure Valrhona Cocoa - arguably the best cocoa in the world!

[H2] Raspberry Sorbet - Sú Craobh

Each batch is made with 5 kilograms of raspberries and pure Irish spring water. It's dairy-free and vegan, ensuring everyone can enjoy this refreshing flavour.

[H2] Chocolate Whiskey - Fuisce Seacláide

We make this flavour using Teeling Whiskey and Valrhona Chocolate. The earthy flavour and alcoholic tang of a strong whiskey add a great deal to chocolate, whether it be in truffles, in a sauce or in ice cream.

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

Deploy structured JSON-LD (Organization and Person schema) to bridge the technical authority gap. Add a missing H1 tag to the homepage to align with the clear hierarchy of sub-pages. Explicitly name the local farms providing the milk and cream to complete the ingredient transparency chain.

The site perfectly aligns with the Food and Restaurant category. Content is heavily focused on ingredient sourcing, culinary processes, and specific retail locations in Ireland.

“The score of 15 is driven primarily by technical gaps in identity and authority (lack of schema) and a few minor industry superlatives. The site scores near zero in semantic drift and information density due to its high reliance on specific, verifiable evidence.”
