[H1] About Gillivervet Enable cookies to show the embedded video Manage my cookie choices [H2] High quality equine veterinary care for the horses of Lancashire. Established in 1989 by equine vet John C Gilliver, our ambulatory and first opinion equine practice in Anderton aims to be the number one choice for equine clients in the Chorley and Lancashire regions. The son of a dairy farmer, John developed a passion for horses early in life. He started riding at the age of six, and was breeding ponies by the time he was 14! This longrunning love of horses is shared by his fellow team members, who intend to provide the highest standards of service possible and deliver compassionate, high quality veterinary services. The practice has achieved an RCVS “outstanding” level in their ambulatory and client service awards, and we offer a 24/7 ambulatory service for emergencies and a wide range of mobile services. View our services We’re a BEVA approved practice for artificial insemination using frozen and chilled semen, with facilities onsite for storing frozen semen. Our premises hold extensive facilities, including onsite stabling, a reproduction building, a laboratory, a dedicated JMB measuring room, a treatment room with stocks and large inpatient stables with CCTV monitoring. We’ve got a dedicated trot up area, an outdoor arena and a weighbridge in practice for clients, should you want to monitor your horse’s weight. We can carry out full diagnostic and lameness investigation procedures, including remedial farriery, and are well-equipped to perform routine and complex dental procedures. We are also regularly visited by the Equine Dental Clinic in Dorset. Our team also has access to digital radiography, ultrasound, class IV laser and shockwave equipment. Our love of equine veterinary care extends beyond our practice and mobile work, as we love getting involved with our local equine community. Meet the Team [IMG: Two women in navy blue jackets are standing by a railing outside. One is holding a blue cap with Gilliver on it, while the other holds a rope. They are smiling and engaged in conversation, with a green structure in the background.] We regularly hold client evenings, sponsor local riding clubs and country shows, have a stand at STARS Championships and attend events like Aintree and Bold Heath as the designated vets on call. Give us a call today to learn how we can support you and your horse. Contact Us

Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 354 businesses audited.
Gillivervet has 18.5 points less BS than the average for Pets, Veterinary & Animal Services.
Pets, Veterinary & Animal Services BS: Gillivervet (www.gillivervet.co.uk)
Gillivervet is a rare example of a highly substantive service site that provides actual evidence for its clinical claims rather than relying on stock animal photos. The BS score is slightly elevated only by its rigid corporate template and a lack of granular Person schema for its extensive veterinary team. It is a functionally excellent site that prioritizes service availability over marketing fluff.
Integrate individual Person schema for all 17 team members, linking their names to the RCVS registry or professional LinkedIn profiles. Replace the repetitive ‘VetPartners family’ H3 slogan with specific service-level value propositions on internal pages to reduce template fingerprinting. Add a clear pricing guide or ‘starting from’ estimates for routine services like vettings and vaccinations to increase transparency. Link the ‘RCVS Outstanding’ claim directly to an external accreditation or a PDF of the award certificate.
The content strictly adheres to the equine veterinary category, focusing on ambulatory services, stud work, and lameness investigations. Technical terminology like digital radiography, JMB measurements, and BEVA approval confirms a deep alignment with professional veterinary standards.
“The score of 22 is driven by a very strong Information Density (6/30) and perfect Semantic Coherence (0/20). The Trust and Proof (5/20) and Commodity Fingerprint (6/15) pillars contributed points primarily due to missing fee transparency and the repetitive corporate slogans required by the parent company. Identity and Authority (5/15) points were assessed because the site fails to technically connect its highly qualified staff to a verifiable digital footprint via schema sameAs links.”
