SUB-PAGE (https://louispoulsen.com/en-gb/catalog/private/table/ph-11-portable-lamp/) PH 1/1 Portable Lamp – Poul Henningsen | Louis Poulsen
[H2] About this product

Poul Henningsen endeavoured to create glare-free light, direct light where it was most needed, and create soft shadows, using incandescent bulbs as a light source. Henningsen’s mathematic approach to lighting, using the logarithmic spiral, led to the development of the System PH in 1926, which over the years has included hundreds of different models, ranging from floor lamps to table lamps, pendants, chandeliers, and wall lamps.
The PH 1/1 Portable Lamp is a cordless version of the classic table lamp. The PH 1/1 is the smallest shade set of the System PH and is described as a “whole” sized lamp, characterised by its appealing compact semblance with a top shade of approximately 10 cm, corresponding to the middle and lower shade in the proportions 3:2:1. PH’s “whole” sized lamps are designed to be particularly glare-free, and they are therefore ideally placed high in a room where they integrate high-quality lighting with a warm ambience.
The PH 1/1 Portable Lamp can be used for both indoors and outdoors, particularly in spots where there may not be easy access to mains electricity, such as inside a bookcase or on a table.

[H2] Discover the PH 1/1 portable lamp
The PH 1/1 Portable Lamp is a compact interpretation of Poul Henningsen’s three-shade system, designed to provide soft, glare-free light in a cordless format. Based on the original principles developed in 1926, the layered mouth-blown opal glass shades diffuse light evenly, creating a calm and balanced atmosphere.
Scaled down in size, the lamp is designed for flexible placement across the home and beyond.

[H2] About this product

Danish writer, designer, and architect Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) had a vision – to capture the golden hour. In 1958, he created the PH 5 in response to incandescent bulbs and the constant changes in their shape and size and the consequent risk of glare – something PH wanted to avoid. The result was a striking and versatile lamp that could accommodate any bulb. This soon became the PH lamp in Denmark, used in public buildings and private homes.
Known as the PH lamp, the iconic PH 5 design is based on Henningsen’s renowned three-shade system. The pyramid-like fixture effuses both descending and lateral light to illuminate itself. This ensures the light is soft, rich, and completely glare-free. The PH 5 initially incorporated shades in red and blue to improve the light’s color. However, in the latter designs, these were taken out as modern light sources replicate daylight more successfully than before. The classic PH 5 lamp remains a design favorite today, with several styles, hues, and shapes bringing characteristic lighting to any living space.
A pendant of notable design, the PH 5 is a much-loved and well-known lamp found in many homes worldwide. Different hues offer a dynamic gradient effect, making it the perfect addition to your dining room, hallway, or kitchen. Elevate your home with the PH 5 pendant from one of Louis Poulsen’s most credited designers. A design that transcends time and place – that’s what makes the PH 5 an icon.

\n\nKnown as the PH lamp, the iconic PH 5 ",

Your Diagnosis

Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.

Information Density 0 / 30
Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.
Commodity Fingerprint 0 / 15
Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.
Identity & Authority 0 / 15
Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?
Your predicted BS score 0 / 100
💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

22 BS / 100

This is a rare example of a high-substance brand that uses its heritage as a forensic tool rather than a marketing shield. It successfully replaces standard interior design jargon with proprietary technical history. The BS is minimal and mostly confined to unlinked internal review systems.

Integrate a third-party review verified link (e.g., Trustpilot or Yotpo) to move proof_links_count above 0. Add ‘Person’ schema and ‘sameAs’ links for all featured designers to strengthen the authority footprint. Replace the placeholder-style H2 ‘Favourite icon’ with a more descriptive noun-based heading like ‘The PH 5 Design Evolution.’

The content perfectly aligns with the high-end designer lighting and interior design sector. Evidence includes references to iconic Danish architects (Vilhelm Lauritzen, Arne Jacobsen) and specific design histories (Radiohuset, 1940s).

“The score of 22 is driven primarily by the Trust and Proof pillar (10 points) due to internal reviews lacking external verification links. Information density and authority gaps are negligible, as the site provides more technical and historical specifics than 95% of competitors in the interior design space.”
