SUB-PAGE (https://inta.org/advocacy/) Advocacy – International Trademark Association
[H1] Advocacy We speak for brand owners by working to foster effective laws and policies worldwide on trademark and related rights and to harmonize the implementation of those rights. We carry out advocacy through a policy framework of Board resolutions, Model Laws and Guidelines, amicus briefs, testimony and submissions, and reports. Our approach is a collaborative effort between dedicated volunteers and staff engaged in 19 advocacy committees that examine national and regional regulations, treaties, legislation, and trends and develop the policies and resources to ensure that we’re targeting the most pressing issues for brand protection and enforcement. After the Board approves recommended policies, our advocacy team fosters the necessary relationships with government officials, international organizations, and other policy and rule-making bodies. [IMG: Conference-1-768×512] [H1] INTA IP Workshops in Vietnam: IP, Pho, and Salted Coffee In Hanoi, Hanoi Law University through its Vice Rector Associate Professor Nguyen Ba Binh, warmly welcomed INTA representatives Iris Gunther and Walter Chia, along with invited speakers Shwetasree Majumder (Fidus Law Chambers) and Justice Anish Dayal from the Delhi High Court to open the full-day program on IP enforcement for judges and academics. [H2] Amicus Briefs We monitor critical IP cases around the world and provide our expertise in trademark law via amicus briefs and other friend of the court filings. The International Amicus Committee drafts briefs—either requested or self-initiated—and the Board’s Executive Committee votes on their approval. See the submission guidelines for amicus briefs. See All [H2] Board Resolutions Board resolutions provide the basis for our official advocacy position. Members of topic-specific committees draft the resolutions based on their in-depth analysis, and then the Board votes on their approval. See All [H2] Model Laws & Guidelines We make our Model Laws and Guidelines, which are prepared by members on topic-specific committees, available to governments around the world. They inform the drafting and revision of related statutes, rules, and agreements that form the basis of IP practice and compliance. See All [H2] Committee Reports Our committees produce reports on current and emerging issues and their impact on brand owners. Committee reports are data driven and bolster our advocacy work. See All [H2] Testimony & Submissions Governments and inter-governmental agencies view us as the subject matter experts with regard to initiatives that form the rules, norms, and values for trademark laws and related areas of law. We typically provide our expertise through testimony and written submissions in addition to our interactions with government officials. Your Diagnosis
Before revealing the machine’s verdict, predict the BS score for each signal. Higher = more BS (more fluff, less verifiable substance). Drag each slider, then submit to compare your judgment against the engine.
Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)
These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.
Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.
Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.
Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.
Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.
Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.
Based on 83 businesses audited.
Legal Services & Law Firms BS: International Trademark Association (INTA) (inta.org)
INTA is a high-substance entity that uses its website as a functional tool rather than a marketing brochure. It successfully bypasses major BS patterns by delivering specific, dated, and named evidence of its global IP advocacy. The remaining points are purely due to standard association-level fluff and a lack of technical schema integration for its leadership.
Replace fluff-heavy H2s like ‘We Foster Consumer Trust’ with data-backed headlines such as ‘Advocating for 1,150+ Member Organizations Globally’. Integrate Person schema and sameAs links for all named experts and board members to eliminate the identity authority gap. Hyperlink the claim ‘world’s largest network’ to an external industry report or a detailed membership breakdown page. Add a transparent ‘Impact’ section that quantifies the success rate of amicus briefs or the number of countries that have adopted their ‘Model Laws’.
