Training Example: Southeastern – Review the Data, Give Your Score & Compare to the Real AI Evaluation

Industry Context — Common BS Fingerprints in Logistics, Transport & Shipping
Generic Claims: your logistics partner, on time, every time, global reach, local expertise, seamless delivery solutions…
Red Flags: global claims with no network evidence, no operator or regulatory licenses shown, tracking promised but no system accessible, insurance coverage not disclosed…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims global but network page shows limited coverage, claims end-to-end but subcontracts most segments, homepage targets enterprise but services are parcel courier, real-time tracking promised but no live tracking interface…
Proof Expectations: specific route networks and coverage maps, warehouse locations with capacity details, regulatory licenses (operator license, AEO, IATA), live tracking system demonstration…

[H2] Route Disruption

Warm weather is forecast until Saturday and coastal services may be busy, check our advice here

Catchin' trains to catch some rays
This summer, we're providing more carriages on busy routes to the coast, and once on board you'll find that fresh air flows through all of our trains from air conditioning, vents or windows you can open if you need to.
You may still find trains are busier on warm days this week as people head out to cool off at the seaside. Our popular destinations are Margate, Hastings, Broadstairs, Folkestone, Herne Bay, Whitstable, Canterbury and Gillingham.
Trains can be busy towards the coast from 1030 to 1330 and returning between 1600 to 1900, so avoid these times if you can. You can use our handy SeatFinder tools to find the quietest trains.
On Saturday, we'll be providing some additional trains and, to provide extra capacity, longer trains between London and Folkestone / Dover. This will mean that for some journeys between Ramsgate and London St Pancras via Dover, you may need to change trains at Dover.
You can keep up-to-date on our service disruption page or by following us on X or BlueSky. Find out how we prepare for hot weather here.

Our Live Departure Board SeatFinder tool tells you how busy your train might be, allowing you to plan your journey with confidence.
Using train loading data of the same service from the previous week, we are now providing the most accurate information of how busy your service might be. SeatFinder now provides information for weekday and weekend services, and includes most but not quite all our trains. If there is no seat availability shown for your journey, it means information isn’t available for that train yet. We are working hard to bring you more information as soon as we can.
To find out how busy your train is, simply check your journey here on our live departure boards.

You can also view SeatFinder information on our Southeastern app in the Departures & Arrivals and Common journeys features, making it even easier to stay up to date with how busy your train is while you're on the move.
[H2] Seatfinder Timetables
If you’re planning your journey in advance, you can use our SeatFinder Timetables to see how busy trains usually are on each individual weekday. So if you’re only travelling a couple of days each week, then you can compare each day to help you find the quietest times to travel.

Read the Narrative & headings: do hard facts (prices, dates, numbers) outweigh fluff power-words?
Semantic Coherence 0 / 20
Compare the homepage promise against the sub-page reality. Do they hold the same line?
Trust & Proof 0 / 20
Weigh review mentions against actual external proof links. Claims without verification = theatre.

Check headings & narrative against the industry clichés in the setup above.

Inspect the schema: is there real Organization/Person identity with sameAs links, or gaps?

💡 Stuck? Reveal the heuristic lens — how the deterministic page-auditor reads each signal (no AI, pure pattern rules)

These are the structural rules a local, deterministic auditor applies — the same lens you can use to judge each signal. They describe what to look for, not this company’s result.

Information Density

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Semantic Alignment

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Trust & Proof

Count trust words (review, testimonial, rating, verified) against real outbound proof links (Google, Trustpilot, Clutch, G2, Yelp). Lots of trust language with zero verification links is trust theatre. Unlinked logo galleries count against it.

Commodity Fingerprint

Look at how much sentence length varies. Natural writing varies its rhythm; templated or mass-produced copy is statistically uniform. Very low variation reads as commodity content — unless unique named entities break the pattern.

Identity & Authority

Inspect the JSON-LD. Is there an Organization or Person schema, and does it carry sameAs links to real external profiles (LinkedIn, socials)? Missing schema or no identity declaration signals an anonymous entity.

Want to apply this lens yourself? The free BS Indicator Chrome extension runs these heuristic checks live on any page. Bear in mind it is a single-page, deterministic tool — it relies only on pattern rules for the page in front of it and does not perform the cross-page semantic correlation this audit uses, so its readout is a starting lens, not the full verdict.

13 BS / 100

This is a rare example of a utility-first website that prioritizes substance over signal. By providing raw performance metrics and real-time failure reporting, the company converts potentially generic logistics ‘fluff’ into a transparent service dashboard.

Eliminate the H1 lifestyle fluff on the homepage (‘take control of the soundtrack’) and replace it with a more direct value proposition regarding the current network performance. Consolidate the duplicate ‘Download the Southeastern app’ H2 markers on the homepage to improve heading hierarchy. Add links to the specific charities mentioned in the Delay Repay section to provide outbound proof paths for their corporate social responsibility claims.

The site aligns perfectly with the Logistics, Transport & Shipping category as a passenger rail operator. The content focuses on specific route management, transit times, and service level commitments through granular delay reporting.

“The low score of 13 is driven by the exceptional transparency of the Delay Repay data and the granular station-by-station updates. Minor points were lost only for the fluff-heavy Homepage H1 and standard industry clichés like 'stay in the know.' The site effectively uses data to neutralize marketing tropes.”
